It is so easy to forget how much fun springers are

Crosman 760 pump -> Crosman 1077 CO2 -> Umarex Fusion CO2 -> Gamo Whisper Swarm .22 springer and now I'm working on an older Beeman Sportsman in .177. Got some new pellets I want to try out with it.

Old break barrel Beeman question ?

I have a Beeman Sportsman 1000 series in .177. So far, its been fun. I need to replace the spring and can confirm that Vortek does have the spring you need. Just tell them the wire size, and number of coils you'd like and they'll cut it to size. Which reminds me, I need to go order mine today...

    Mystery Beeman build

Decided to roast myself yoday to try out some different pellets at 25 m. Didn't find a conclusively better pellet. Also realized I never posted a good picture of the rifle reassembled.

    Pressure buildup valve for springers?

That is a good point. I'll have to keep that in mind for the valve design, but I think it can be overcome.

I need a bag for my stuff... Pellets, cleaning kit, etc... Springer Version

While I use a big clamshell toolbox, i second the sling bag. My wife uses one for a purse and keeps all kinds of junk in it. Plus, many have concealed carry pockets.

    HW97K Piston Weight Reduction

I've actually been working on a problem similar to this. The problem with what you're thinking is that the "cushion" won't develope as you think. Assuming the hole to the barrel is .177" diameter, that will release all pressure before a cushion can form. The resistance of moving the pellot down...

    Pressure buildup valve for springers?

As an engineer, i tend to look at things a little differently. When I was putting my Beeman Sportsman back together the other day, I got to wondering how much pressure is actually built-up by the spring before that pressure hits the pellet? My conclusion was, not very much. So i began to wonder...

What springer did you shoot today?

Yesterday, I got my Beeman Sportsman project out to test it. Was shooting a 3-1/2" group at 25m using crosman domes. I'm hoping a new, uncut spring will improve on that.

    Mystery Beeman build

Took it back out today to re-zero the scope. Did pretty well. I was getting 3-1/2 inch groups at 25m. I admit, I was hoping for better, but I'm not too unhappy.

    Always check you work...

I go a little impatient today and decided to throw my Beeman SS1000T Sportsman together after letitng if lay in pieces for a few weeks. I just wanted to take it out and check the zero on the scope. Just a few pellets, I swear! (Yeah, right!) You can see the results below. The bottom target was...

    Mystery Beeman build

This is the only picture I have left. I still have most of the knives. They're just burried in a trunk somewhere.

    Mystery Beeman build

Got a bad case of itchy trigger finger, so I threw my Beeman Sportsman SS1000T back together to test it out with the old cut down spring. No, I did not use a spring compressor. No, I will not tell you how I actually did it for safety and legal reasons. Anyways, I lubed the seal with some white...

    Mixing work with pleasure

All you need is a camera on the scope and you can mount it to the bucket.

    How many shots?

I have to be a but economical. My property is a square acre, but I've got neighbors to three sides and a road to the other. Means I have a very small zone I can actually use to shoot. Fortunately, most of my neighbors are either vets or gun nuts, so I don't get any complaints.
