FX .22 caliber Tarantula leak question

Regarding your original question: the stock screw doesn't enter the air chamber. It cannot be the leak. But in my case, similar, the leak was coming from the breach area, specifically the main valve. You will need to remove the rifle from the stock to investigate.

    Donnyfl clipping problem

I had a silencer that started clipping after I applied anti-seize thread paste. Some of the paste wound up on the flat mating surfaces and that was all it took. Cleaned it up and it quit clipping.

    side focus torture

Odoyle, Incredible, thanks for sharing your knowledge and the link. I assume from the conversation that the objective is tensioned against the adjustment ring. This is going to be so easy.

    side focus torture

I just picked up a Nikon 4.5-14x40 SF Buckmaster. I recall somebody else had a Nikon scope worked on to bring focus in for air rifle use. As the scope is currently designed near focus is 50yds. Can it be modified to focus at 20yds? Does anybody have knowledge about this? Otherwise, it is a...

    Daystate mag question

I got a big accuracy improvement from a small modification to my old magazines. Shooting a Regal XL .22, the magazine groups were were previously 2" at 30y. Horrible! In between then and now I resealed the pellet probe, transfer port and valve body. I modified all my magazines by...

Daystate Mk4 IS - where did they go

I have been fascinated by this gun since watching one go for a ridiculously low price about a year ago. I see them for sale in the UK at about 650-800 pounds (sorry, can't find the currency symbol.) It seems the battery maintenance is a bit of a chore but otherwise is an engineering marvel. The...

I need help with my Fx turbo hand pump

"noticeable less air with each stroke" - a separate problem from the check valve. During my rebuild I came to realize that absent/wrong lubricant will cause the O-rings to fail. ESPECIALLY if you build up a lot of heat and continue pumping.

    Rifle cant

Gravity pulls in only one direction: straight down. It doesn't matter about where the stock is placed. It does matter that the scope is directly above the barrel.

FX for precision target (and hunting); Daystate for hunting?

I'm shooting a couple of 1st gen PCPs: Daystate PH6 .177 (ca 2000), FX Tarantula .22 (pre 2002). Neither can be loaded single-shot, both must use the magazine. I prefer my old Daystate because it has never been apart since I've owned it. Reliability has been awesome, AND it is twice as accurate...

    Hunting with daystate redwolf

LTU-13, the pfff is likely caused by the regulator's reservoir bleeding off, but you probably already knew that. Regarding all the other comments about living with electronics, I'm glad I was able to resist a recent ad for a Daystate MkIV that I really (really!) wanted to play with. But that...

    The Edge Of Ballistics

Who wants to do the ballistics calculation that tells me what the stability failure speed was at 42 yards. Then please calculate the yardage when a pellet slows to that same failure speed given a muzzle velocity of 850fps. Just guessing from the many "golf ball challenges" that it might be well...

    FX Pump Rebuild

Yes, I am using the parts diagrams. It is interesting to note that both pumps are comprised of one piston rod and three tubes. The newer "Turbo" model has moved the large piston to the bottom of the next sized tube (upstream), while installing a "small piston" at the original location. Pretty...
