FX How to get higher velocity??

I think the other answers are more to your point. But in general if you want higher velocities you want a longer barrel and/or more air pressure and/or lighter projectiles. Depending on your current setup one might be more relevant than another, for example if you don't have enough air...

Looking for friends to shoot with in Eastern Oregon.

I'm a Canadian, and had been living in NY for almost a decade. At the end of that decade I got a job in Eugene, OR. So I rode my motorcycle out from NY to Eugene. It was a hot summer day and I stopped in the store (the only store) in Brogan OR. When I walked in, I asked for a burger. They...

Barrel Length in the Airgun Industry

Some barrels only have a short length of rifling towards the business end. The length of the rifling I'd call "rifled length" rather than "barrel length".

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

Maybe against the spirit of the thread, but I downsized a bit today. Sold a thermal spotting scope. Guy paid in cash. My wallet hasn't been this swollen since I last visited Japan (and my host paid me in cash "March scope money").

    Huben Huben GK1 Canadian Version.

It's much more subtle than a 500fps upper limit. There is an energy limit. And then there are ridiculous "shape of the gun" limitations. For example, a Crossman 1322 in "Canadian configuration" requires no license at all. But if they made the slightest mistake configuring your Canadian...

    Huben Huben GK1 Canadian Version.

It's more than that. To purchase most airguns in Canada you need a firearms license. So after a lot of time, money and agreeing to continuous background checks by our security apparatus. . . why get an airgun at all? That's why they're not very popular in Canada. Most people get get a 22LR...

    EDgun Never follow

Back in the yonder years before crazy trade restrictions on Russia, you could buy a lot of non-standard barrels for the Edgun Leshiy 2 directly from a Russian manufacturer on e-bay. It wasn't officially Edgun, maybe just an employee with a side-hustle.

    Casting ammo from lead-acid batteries?

That sounds like the reasonable and sane thing to do.

    Casting ammo from lead-acid batteries?

When I was a kid I tried to take the anodization off a motorcycle part. Being smart, I found a lead-acid battery that used sulphuric acid. I poured the acid into a bowl then put the motorcycle part in, expecting wonders. . . and nothing happened. Then I realized, these chemical reactions...

    Casting ammo from lead-acid batteries?

Have any of you tried recoving the lead from a lead-acid battery, to use as your base metal to cast pellets or slugs? I have a bunch of old, expired lead-acid batteries sitting around. Might as well use the metal for something.

    To newbie, would be ratters…

If my dogs see me taking the airgun into the yard they go silent. Here the main reason you'd consider a thermal scope is so you can patrol in complete darkness. May not matter to the rats, as you say, but will make a difference with neighbours.

What scope magnification do you like to shoot and why?

I usually only do pesting. My thermal scope has a min magnification of 3x, so that's probably my most typical magnification.

    EDgun Edgun Leshiy 2

My impression is it depends a bit on who you buy from. In the States I think EGW installs the jets.

    Exploding ammo

Exploding pellets result in less penetration but a bigger initial wound. Not sure if it's still up, but the Edgun Leshiy channel showed the results on squirrels and it was significant. That said, a vanilla 22 pellet is overkill for a squirrel so I'm not sure if that's a particularly helpful...

Will the 7mm That’s Being Introduced by the Wolfiek Group Prove to be Better for Competitive Shooters?

I don't see 7mm in airguns as being used for anything other than "gonzo long distance" shooters with ridiculously large and expensive kit. If you pest, .22 and .25 are so established. I find I never need more than .22, although I know there are plenty of people that like going up to .25 for...
