Hello Mike. Sounds like you and I have a few things in common. For a good while I had friends into falconry and wanted to do it and never did. Now I’m racing pigeons in Louisiana and still shooting pest pigeons when my birds bring home strays. Do you fly with a club?

I’ve killed hundreds of raccoons with between the eyes shots with 30 fpe 18.1, 40 fpe .25 cal 25.4 gr and 30 cal 44 gr pellets. Most of the time when cleaning them I cut the head off and find the pellet in the neck. All 3 calibers same penetration. Crazy. The .30 with 44 gr was king before the...

I shot a test deer head that my brother killed. 50 yds between the eye and ear and recovered the slug under the skin on opposite side 40gr ATP at 885 fps. I recovered one from a tree squirrel shot in the head long ways and slug was at base of tail.

I have shot a few critters and was able to recover my slug. Nice expansion on most. But a heart or lung on a yote it’s going a good distance. This is how I found this slug on a 10“turtle at 75 yds. 40 gr .22@885 fps.

Playing with the vet2 .22 long today and 30 gr slugs at 900 fps I got 75 shots on a 3600 fill
