I sold a .177cal Red Wolf standard and still regret it to this day. Excellent rifle in every regard.

600mm barrel minimum length for slugs at the velocity you want. I have a Crown MK2 and would say it's a good rifle for pellets and likely slugs in .177cal. I haven't gotten around to tuning my 500mm .177cal slug liner yet but it should have no problem with that caliber and weight range.

If you can consistently hit a inch target at 30 to 40 yards, a head shot will put them down at that distance.

I'm not sure what your preference is for a reticle, the Primary Arms prisms get pretty good reviews.

If you are getting good results with a random flyer, it's either the ammo or you. Most likely the ammo.

Glad to hear you are liking your rifle. I haven't shot my .25cal enough due to time constraints, but it seems to like the 33gr JSB pellets around 900fps.

With air rifles you might as well just buy what you want your rifle to be in the end and get it over with. You might save some money in the long run, unless you can get some good deals on the classifieds.

Krale or European Air Guns (?) Have had FX barreled actions for sale in the past. Only ones I've ever seen.

If you take transportation weight and space into consideration, .22LR would be the way to go.
