In my neck of the woods it’s the Colombian ground squirrels and ours come out a bit later, more like April. And this year the fresh crop of young ones that are very unaware didn’t come out till July. Went to Montana for a few years where they were more prolific , those were Richardsons squirrels...
I have an Epoch compact and love it. Mine is a 30. From what I have read the 2 Regs work in conjuncation with each other and even though I have read about it , it’s not completely clear to me. The gun has no traditional hammer and from my understanding that’s where the electric part comes in...
If the scope is for an air rifle , I prefer a 10 yard focus. I have a Mark 4 on a pb but won’t work for me on an air rifle. I just picked up a GPO that I’m very happy with.
@Motorhead . That picture had me salivating for a situation like that. Anyway looks like a lot of fun ! That’s exactly my passion , but all of ours here in N.Idaho have gone down for the year.
I’m basically a wood stock guy from way back. However after my first wood stock pcp and being a hunter for the most part , I quickly saw the beauty in the chassi style. So now I don’t own a wood stock pcp anymore. When I acquired my raw I opted for the chassis and put an Impulse air moderator...
I started out with the trigger stix monopod years ago but it pretty wobbly. I have also tried the bipod one, which is a bit easier to deploy. Decided on the tripod because it’s much more solid for holding the gun still.
I use the primos trigger sticks tripod. Easy to carry and fairly quick to deploy. My buddy uses a carbon fiber tripod with the ball head. For walking around it just looks awkward to me. I’m of the belief that the trigger sticks are better on uneven ground.
I just picked up a Sightron 4x20 x50 s- tac scope ffp with the zero stop. Love the reticle and a very nice scope. I also picked up a compact GPO 4x16 that’s really nice.
I used to use the Xmas tree to shoot off from with my pb guns. I have decided to start dialing my elevation and then I can use the horizontal hash marks for windage.
Interesting , I just got some Jts 45 gr. Pellets that seem to shoot better in both my 30s than the jsb s. Took my Skout epoch compact out to my buddy s range the other day to get the dope for my free Kenton turrets for my Gpo compact. Didn’t do the official spread etc. since I was more...
Weight is of primary importance to me on my hunting guns. This eliminates many scopes from the list for consideration. Add in the 10 yard focus, ffp, illumination in reticle, price, power, and the list is manageable.
