I never realized there was this hind of a Coon problem.Good thing they don’t have red riders. We would all need riot 12 gauges.

I wonder which power plant they are using in it. Which trigger it has.

Good shooting. We have recovered some hades from rifle around the same ft/lbs you are shooting and @25 yard they expand to nearly .28 caliber.

And we have experienced the same accuracy.

Coon are salty critters they are tough are hard to kill . I have made marginal a shot with a 357 lever action that took a follow up shot so I don’t put a lot of faith in the .30 being a lot better than the .25. It’s all about shot placement. If you take any shot other than frontal head shot they usually travel a little ways before they expire. A .25 cal works pretty well that’s what I use with 25.4s at about 925. This is coming from much experience as I have taken well over 200 in the past 2 years. With 22 shot in the last two hunts 17 were recovered within 50 yards most all these are shot right behind the front  leg above the centerline of body. An Edgun should suit you fine in 25 caliber. And they are good guns. I think if you research the Taipan you will not find any negative about them either. As far as the FX I will stay out of that I will say I don’t own one and probably won’t. The Cricket is another great gun Charlie At Georgia Airguns can fix you up on that. I used one for a long time. Then we converted a p12 to a .25 cal as it get hauled and shuffled around. And the single shot works good when you are operating of of feel alone at night.Hope this helps.

Welcome and if you do go to the dark side keep one of you flash lights and your springer so you can find and shoot your way back.

I have 5 nikon efr air-rifle scopes. They have been on R1s Hw90s Hw95s hw97s and Tx 200s. Out of all of them I have one that I suspect may have problems that just noticed a week or two ago. Not sure how old it is and not even sure if it’s bad. Could be the rifle may have problems. Anyway I don’t think you went wrong with the choice unless they changed something else when they changed there caps. All of mine are at least a year or so old.

Vortek Products has a few of the gas rams for these. I just installed one in a costumers Beeman Kodiak rifle. It was a total transformation on power feel and shot cycle. Prior to install 25.4 Jsbs were shooting at 640 fps the shot cycle was harsh and very twangy. Once the gas ram was installed the 25.4’s shot at 718 fps that’s a little over 29 ft/lbs. The shot cycle was just a solid clap no vibration . Now this is a magnum springer and I was able to get some decent groups at 25 yards of hand. Or what I call good for what I was shooting. This thing utilizes a cannon hold rather than the normal artillery hold.

    Good luck with it.

I have been shooting springers for about 25 years off and on. Four years ago I started shooting pcps and shot them exclusively for about two years and then started venturing back to the springers. I love the power of the pcps  and the fact that my wife and me included shoot them in field target I guess I will have to keep them around. I counted them earlier 14 pcps, 13 springers, and 4 CO2 pistols.

With all that said if I could only keep one. My R1Long Range  Hunter will never leave. Vortek Kit Installed H&N 14.66 @ 810 ( 21.36 ft/lbs ) close as I ever got to a pcp and very shootable.

Is there any truth to it if you shoot these rifles at full power that the seals will fail. I had one and sold it because one of the above mentioned said if it was shot at the higher power they would fail. In less than 500 or so shots my .20 was at about 18 ft. Lb.

I just purchase a TX200 HC and I haven’t found anything except crosman 14.3 and they are not that great past 25 yds.I have shot all the 14.66 H&N 5.53 5.54 & 5.55 . Tried AA 16 JSB 16 and 18. And tried H&N 21.14. Almost no success. Gave up on the .22 and ordered a .177 barrel. The gun was used when I got it so idk how it was treated prior. Seem like a lot of people like the 13.43 I may try them before I swap my barrel. Hope you have better luck than I have so far.

I just reworked one and it turned out good. I am pretty sure I still have a new poppet valve. I am in Louisiana. You can find my information on Vortek’s website. It is Deep South Airguns.

I have been using a scuba tank with a regulator feeding a shoebox for a couple of year now with no problems. With an 80 cf bottle it is almost 100 psi for 100 psi on 60 min scba. There are no moisture issues with the breathing air or you can use nitrogen. They are better setups out there but if you have a shoebox it not a bad way to go. The biggest downside for me is the maintenance on the shoebox. Just a hassle not much money.

That was awesome for a review. The manufactures may boycott you in fear that you may review there products. Thanks for the honest reviews.

Try loading a pellet remove the mag close the bolt put a paper towel over where the mag goes fire it if the paper towel moves your barrel oring is probably wore out if it’s never been change.  Hope that helps. If not I can guarantee Charlie can fix you up.
