    Airforce Texan ss 457

I have an SS. It was not that noisy. Then I added a Donny Ronin, replacing the Airforce suppressor. It’s quieter, but not hugely. the main reason I changed is because the innards of the Airforce suppressor are not that sturdy. Both are very acceptable.

American Air Arms Slayer .357 Molds lets talk

I see no one has really answered your question, so here is a surprise for you. My best bullet out of my .357 Texan is a full wadcutter. I don’t know if it’s the length or what, but it is accurate and hits hard.

For Hunters, Why use Big bore Pcps over Firearms

I have, among other airguns, a Texan .457 To hunt deer with. Truth is, I could easily just use one of my rifles, but this has a number of things going for it. First, it’s a challenge similar to a black powder gun. It’s a challenge to get all the factors down to shoot well, but that is part of...

    Flex in the big Texans

I can see tight spots in my barrel. It does ok, and I don’t plan on stretching out past 100 yards, but I do wish the barrels were better. I actually asked LW, they said call AirForce. I did, answering machine only, they say they will grt back to me—nothing.

.357 vs .45 , which one and why?

Here are my thoughts. A .357, not a hollow-point that expands, has a an area of 0.10 square inches (10% of a square inch)—in other words it creates a wound channel of 0.10 sq in. Run the same equation for a.457, and the area is 0.164 sq in—an over 60% area increase! This is a much better...

.357 Texan lss low power for the 1st shot

You are exactly right! Three accurate shots is the norm. If you get a bigger tank, then you can get a shot or two more. Also if you use a smaller bullet (but my Texan likes a bullet on the heavy side). I’m glad the wheel changed helped!

Try adjusting your wheel closer towards the tank.

AEA HP SS Max 9mm Any Good?

I’m sure it is as good as their other Texans, but with Reedmasser, that a bigger caliber will do you much better. I have the SS in .457, and it really meets all the needs you mention. I’d caveat that in size—it would pack with the tank off, but not on (easy to do).

Tuning Texan LSS shroud reassembly question

I have an SS, and those don’t seem familiar. Do you have a picture?
