I have both HW35E and HW50s both in .177 and both new, the HW35E shoots harder, is easier to cock. I would choose the HW35E in .22 I've read reports that it actually does about 12.4 FPE, Mine does around 11.5 FPE, but If I use the JSB RS 7.33gr pellets, sometimes i go a tick over 12 FPE.
