Bushnell Elite Tactical took a knock...

That's sensible advice /\. Remove the scope and do an approx optical re-centering (mirror, lots of light); remove rings then re-assemble the whole rig. By going back to 'square 1' you eliminate many variables. The aiming system (Scope :-) ) is NOT the gun, nor does it MAKE a 'gun' do odd...

FX AIR GUN SMOOTH TWIST BARREL

The term 'Smooth Twist' is part of the Patent that FX own, along with the system of making these barrels. I would say you are quite free to attempt to make similar barrels* but you are not free to sell them as 'Smooth Twist' / 'SmoothTwist' or any other close variation of those words. *FX...

    Does focus change with magnification?

This will be largely down to Depth of Field / or Depth of Focus - exactly as you describe KMD the scope seems to be out when you increase magnification as the Depth of Field decreases (sometimes quite dramitically) this effect is used to accurately range find via AO or side focus. At very high...

To all ATN X-Sight II owners...

Well, it's all a bit theoretical at this point isn't it KMD? I entirely agree that Optical Magnification is to be preferred to Digital ('zoom') but I don't think the front 'Objective' of the X-Sight lends itself to this solution, Some of the Yukon/Pulsar NV digiscopes DO have "front lenses"...

What means when a member have a red accuracy??

I dont use this "Hidden Comment" method preferring to just say (right out) ON THE FORUM if I either agree with someone or disagree. This is an open forum which means non-members can read all the posts on all the sections (I believe?) and a Forum in the classical Greek sense is a place where one...

Oh Boy New Toy, I dogon done and doneit. Now I can do some real night hunting

Dont think ITAR covers any Digital NV kit - which is nearly always made outside of the US anyway :-) (ITAR definitely covers Tubed NV, above Gen I anyway). This is also a 'consumer grade sight' and as far as I know offered for sale in Europe and other places where NV use/hunting is permitted.

Oh Boy New Toy, I dogon done and doneit. Now I can do some real night hunting

I don't have this unit Willie but have read a fair bit about them - the one piece of sage advice I would urge YOU to follow is to only use 'Kentli re-charge Batteries'. Genuine Kentlis have an internally regulated output and it appears the X-Sight does not handle power variance (as a...

    Mil/MoA vs Mil/Mil vs MoA/MoA

Just to amplify what 'Oldspook' has already stated, the ENTIRE Optics Industry and the Physics behind it has used Metric standards for nigh on 200 years because of the close fit of practical measurements. Marketing of Optics has naturally lagged behind that fact :-( In our less precise World...

Straight Skinny -- What the user base believes about ATN

Oldspook (my old friend :-) ) I have been following the 'progress' of ATN for years and years, in fact from a time when they or their distributers laughed at Digital Night Vision equipment. Let's start with the name ... (& I'll break it down into 2 parts :-) ) ATN used to stand for American...

    Parallax question - dilema

Providing you dont 'move the camera around' you will see zero parallax 'error' in that situation because all 3 elements will be lined up correctly. So, not moving the camera at all try adjusting the focus (AO or Side) over the entire range whilst the scope is centered on a target (gun in vise...

    Parallax question - dilema

You are talking about Focussing Boombots - 'Parallax' only happens when one of the 'elements' in a Telescopic sight moves (in relation to the other two) this would be your head (or anyone's) head - it's down to simple Math &/or Geometry (related to the scope's reticle being about 2" away from...

    Fx verminator air leak

That is the most common place for an 'O' ring failure but you might be lucky and just have some crud affecting the fill valve (it's where crud can get into a rifle, after all). The fill valve itself is tiny and you should be careful not to damage it (it's easily scratched), on the 'nose' of the...

FX reveals the "Crown" and the Smooth Twist "X" barrel system!

Beeman - the SmoothTwist 'rifling' is not the same a 'square cut' (button pulled or hammered) rifling. By pressing in the rifling from the outside (using a very complicated machine) the resulting internal effects are 'rounded humps' and they graduate somewhat over the length IE: they start very...

Bore Sighting... I don't get it?!

To avoid confusion: Laser 'Bore Sighters' are rather limited in effectiveness but often used by 'powderburners' to cut the cost of acheiving a rough zero. A proper Bore / Scope Collimator IS a very useful object indeed and can provide a mass of information about scopes and mounts (+ barrels!)...

Maybe someone from Europe can help out with the Carbon fiber tank rules.

I've heard 2 reasons why Divers DONT USE these CF tanks: 1) Obvious really :-) they're too light !!! ie: much too buoyant to be of use 2) Sea water / salt water was stated as "unsuitable" for Carbon Fibre This was stated to me by a regular Diver I know.
