    Resources Getting into FT

If just starting out I would suggest a Marauder. It’s a good rifle to start with and you will knock targets down. The problem is if you really like the sport and want to get in deeper. You can spend money on a Marauder and make it better. You just need to be careful as you may find you could...

    Resources Getting into FT

In the OP’s case he is probably 30 miles from Arlington Sportsmans Club so he is plenty close. He can probably carpool with other shooters coming from that area.

    Resources Getting into FT

Arlington Sportsman Club. Great range and very active. Matches are the last Saturday of the month. I am sure Jeff will see this and chime in. I will shoot you a PM with my phone number if you want to discuss FT and shooting at ASC. Way to much to type here.

I am east of Glen Rose. Plenty of room to shoot.

    Other Recommendations for 10yo?

I would say the HW30 but he or she may need to grow into it (& kids grow fast). My main reason, other than being better that any rifle in its class, it is a lifetime rifle. They can shoot that rifle the rest of their life and their kids and grandkids can shoot it many years from now. Those...

Great job Jeff. You and Scott nailed it. That match was as well run as a match could be. I think y’all are ready for nationals in October. Let me know how I can help for nationals (American flag lane stakes?).

Tulsa Airgun Club - No match 10 May

As the previous owner of those targets this isn’t the first time they have been thru a flood. When I had them they all looked like they had been dipped in chocolate after the flood. I took them all home, got a bucket of hot soapy water, a sponge, and a hose then I hand washed every one of...

Sounds good and you are on the right track. I shoot FT at ASC. See you there. I went to college in Denton back in the day. I could have found you places back in the early 90’s. We dove hunted all over the place back then. Still have no idea who owned the various tracks of land we hunted...

    Field Target Pistol

I don’t own one but have worked on a couple. Great pistols. If you do one modification, put an aluminum hammer in it. quick and easy to do and will make it act like it is regulated. Takes care of most of your hammer bounce and easier to tune.

Interested in Field Target? Plenty of us in the area shooting FT.

    Let's talk timers!

I got the talking timer last Friday and used it in the RoT match Saturday and Sunday. It was a hit. My squad of three enjoyed it. Definitely worth buying. So much better than a normal timer. Set it at 5 minutes and it tells you you have 4, 3, 2, 1 minute left. Once it gets under a minute...

Great & well run match today Jeff & Scott. Thanks for all your hard work to make things like this happen.

    Targets

Won’t take much work for them to go the long haul in competition. You do need to do a few things though. First reinforce the paddle. Pretty cheap and simple if you can weld (don’t have to be good at welding. Swap out the pins with some #8 (or #10 can’t remember) bolts and nylon nuts. Then...

    Let's talk timers!

I just ordered one with the hopes of having it in time for the Republic of Texas match this weekend. Sure seems like it would answer my issues with timers even though I am a fairly fast shooter. At Worlds back in November I found 4 minutes for forced position shots seemed a little tight and it...
