I asked in an open forum what gun I should get for my specific needs. About 2 pages of nutless giving no practical advice…then cantinaboy256 just lays out the truths. He was right about the airgun advice. I can’t keep up with his Tesla like paragraphs of explanations on machinining these guns...

I know he's not butthurt. I know some passionate tempers have flared, but as much as an A-hole Cantana256 is, and since we're talking butt stuff, this guy is my kinda A-hole.

    Tunged a Blonde Beech

Thats gorgrous! There is a dark tung made by Real Milk Paint Co. that will turn a slight brwown hue. Or you can use a coffee ground rub, like the real fine ground stuff thats about like powder. The vinegar thing sounds interesting.

A pro for using all dry stripping technique. The citristrip would have taken everything off. I like the contrast it leaves too!

    Tunged a Blonde Beech

Thanks! It was so tight grained it looked and felt like 800g finish. I had to 180g in an attempt to open it up so the tung could get some hold. I doubt it would take stain or evenly. It didn't take the finish Benjamin used as it was blotcy and swirly and came off easy. I like the lower sheen...

    Tunged a Blonde Beech

The Sun. lol 70-75F. afternoon when UV is higher. 45-1hr per side exposed to sunlight. Above 80F. 30 min per side. I discovered this with tung oil 8yrs ago when I sat some axe handles out on the back deck to dry. I noticed the side facing the sun hardened, so I rotated them and those axes have...

    Tunged a Blonde Beech

Benjamin sent me a stock with scratches. I used a razor blade to scratch off the thin & terrible looking finish and then followed up with sandpaper 180g. (It was this dry method vs Citristrip. Glad I did this dry) This process revealed a beautiful beech wood stock with the tightest grain I’ve...

I was today years old, when I realized... (scope zeroing).

I've gone to the method you described about moving the crosshairs to the shot. Don't even have to know the movement per click. This is a quick way to get a rough zero, then fine tune with a couple clicks. This works great with a new mounted scope to the rig and a big piece of cardboard to catch...

    Coyote suggestions

I only see banter and drivel coming from you. You ask this dude questions, he provides numerous examples, finds a video, and you mince a way to an argument on about every point. At this point I bet you'd argue the color of the sky if he said it was blue. Seems the only motivation you have is to...
