What Was Your First Pellet Rifle?

HW77 in 1996 in 4.5, when I was 15 years old. Bought with newspaper round money. I did not know anything about airguns back then, but I saw the HW90s of fellow club members break all the time. I was familiar with the FWB 300 inner cylinder system, so I went the HW77. It turned out to be a...

    Tuning LGV Full power Spring

Thanks. I don´t know what ´´ARH´´ is, but you are saying that it does take a Pro Sport spring, that is good to know. Mine is not even close to 12FTLBS and .22, that is in my opinion really not adequate.

    Tuning LGV Full power Spring

I have an LGV in .22 that has a factory spring in it, it does not even do 14 joules. I would like to put full power spring in it to get to at least 24 joules ( Walther in the past apparently sold a 24 joule version). These original full power springs are no longer sold. What could I...

Looking to buy a Weihrauch HW97K in .25 caliber - wise choice?

You are right, it all depends on what you like. If you like poor quality control, flimsy materials and poor cost / benefits, whilst thinking that you are buying a dream rifle: Diana might just be your thing. It is indeed my opinion based on owning and working on these brands, that AA and HW are...

Looking to buy a Weihrauch HW97K in .25 caliber - wise choice?

With regards to the HW97 and the LGU/LGV, both have strong points. The Walthers have (out of the box) a better shot cycle, but the HW is sturdier. The trigger really lets the LGU/LGV down. I own both and if I had to pick one; hands down the HW97. HW97: Solid machines steel. My Diana's (350...

Looking to buy a Weihrauch HW97K in .25 caliber - wise choice?

Great choice. The HW 77/97 & AA TX200 are the best springers on the market, third place for me are the LGV/LGU. Diana does not even come close in terms of quality. Diana uses inferior materials and cuts corners wherever they can. Diana is way too expensive for what it is.

Looking to buy a Weihrauch HW97K in .25 caliber - wise choice?

IMO it is under powered for the .25. Plus this pellets is more expensive, you have less choice etc... .22 is the way to go if you want a little more oomph and less wind sensitivity than the .177, but only if the gun is full power.

Anybody still like the Weihrauch HW100? I do.

Thanks for the post. My HW100 4.5 FAC has erratic accuracy. I will try turning down the power.

Why is the efficency of pcp air rifles so low compared to firearms?

Why is the efficency of pcp air rifles so low compared to firearms? Depends how you look at it . Dead = Dead. One hole one target = One hole one target. If you can do that for $0.05 (or less) instead of $1, I will call that efficient. Who cares about the exact numbers. I don't.

    Advice/suggestions for Altaros booster setup

I saw pictures of your exploded booster in another thread. The desiccant pearls shot out with so much force that it damaged the casing. Something tells me, that the pressure spike that caused the unit to rupture was caused by an explosion, perhaps by flammable lubricant entering the unit. I in...

    Advice/suggestions for Altaros booster setup

I have had an Altaros booster for two years now and I am very happy with it; zero problems so far. It is very low maintenance and the air is dry and clean. As to compressors: The harbor freight one should be okay to directly fill a rifle, but forget about tanks. Also these Chinese direct drive...

Oil removal filter. Please help filter noob.

I have an Altaros Booster, which provides very dry air. The first stage compressor removes part of water trough it's tank, it has a water separator as well + the Altaros booster also has a separator + desiccant filter. So, water is not an issue with this booster. I have noticed that the the...

Unbiased review of the new Vector Optics Continental 5-30x56FFP scope!

I get your point. But bear in mind that Joe spends a few hours with a scope. Match shooters; long range (fire and air), hft etc spend many hours a week with their scopes. To me, the fact that match shooters lean towards certain brands is much more telling than a YouTuber that does a video. The...

Unbiased review of the new Vector Optics Continental 5-30x56FFP scope!

@Primaz. I never said the 30mm version is the same as the 34 minus 4 mm. I sincerely hope for your it is not. I bought my 30MM directly from Vector 3months ago, and yes it also supposedly has German 'Schott' glass. But hey, look here: https://wftc2019.com/wftc2019_pcp_results/ Must...

Unbiased review of the new Vector Optics Continental 5-30x56FFP scope!

So how much better is this than it's 30mm sibling, aprt from 4mm more adjustment? I happen to own the 30 mm sibling and in all honestly: I would not buy it again. This things is also supposedly made with ''Schott glass'', it is however not even close to my European scopes. Wobbly turrets and...
