I own .22 and .177.   The .22 never gets shot unless I'm far from  civilization.  I don't need any caliber besides these two.  If I need more power I burn powder, but then, there are many places where I live that you can shoot as far as you want.  Air guns let me shoot anytime I want in town, but I'm careful to stay un-noticed/not do anything stupid to attract attention.  My .177 can take everything I desire or need to take, like skunks, so it's my favorite. I just ordered a Sniper HR in .177 in fact-tempting to get the .22, but I'll let all the slug turmoil settle out for now.

You answered your own question in the first paragraph.  Also, adding quality parts will cost you.  In the end you’ll spend almost/or as much as the expensive rifle.  My first rifle was a Marauder, but I should have bought an fx streamline like I wanted to.  Sure I saved a few hundred but I endedbup with a heavy rifle that doesn’t shoot as well, and it will always be fugly.  Why waste the time?  On top of that if I sell it it’s not worth anything where with the streamline I could easily get 2/3 to 3/4 of what I paid for it. Nope-I made the wrong move, at least for what I was looking for

Wow-that’s a shame.  Yep-I like pa and hd.  I ordered a box  of CPHeavies from amazon.  Every 5th or 6th shot was a flier so I sent them back.  They need to be packed properly.  4th tin free is hard to beat

I have 3.177’s as well not sure what that other dude is talking about.  HW,  Brocock, and Crosman M-Rod.  I like the Brocock the best but they all smoke the critters up to skunks just fine.

Should we wait 5 years before w say anything?  I tend to align more with the wait and see crowd but nothing wrong with jumping in with both feet either.  If you got it, spend it!

I use high intensity white light with no problems-Surefire or Nitecore flash lights around 1k lumens.  Doesn’t seem to spook the birds but I let the lead fly pretty quick too

I bet Matt Dubber started FX down this road.  FX must believe this is the optimum design to Patent-nice work!

Some beautiful footage of the countryside there-enjoyed that.  What do you think of MTC optics?

Barrels like what they like.  I’ve tried shooting the junk ammo and you may even get a tin  that shoots lights out. The next tin won’t.  Not worth the frustration to me.  My LW barrel likes H&N cuda hunters, JSB’s, and certain lots of CPH’s-that’s it.  I’m not going to change out 5 barrels to find one the will shoot junk ammo, if that’s even possible.  Don’t take this as a dig-you just have to decide if “saving” a few bucks is worth going thru all that

When you put in the huma did you get all the holes lined up.  Sounds low to me.  I have a gen 2

that i purposely have set down to 790fps shooting 10.5s with the stock reg.  Seems like you should be able to get into the 9’s but I don’t really know. Hajimoto has a video on installment of the Jefferson State aluminum air tube that might be help or call crosman.

I got the full package camo stock, regulated, LW barrel in .177, and lifetime warranty.  I pretty well drop everything I pull the trigger on now.  I’m shooting heavies at 780 FPS and get 117 consistent shots before I refill.  Ragged holes on paper-and I didn’t lift a finger chasing down parts. No regrets here at all plus it is very quiet.  I shoot hundreds of rounds out of the shop window sometimes if it’s cold out with the wood stove going-life is good

I shoot into a bale of straw long ways. They are light, cheap, silent, hold the lead well, and when it’s worn out it fits nicely in the trash can.  Buy another for six bucks and I’m good for another 2 years-more or less.  No ricochet’s

My last box had 2” flyers in every 10 shot group.  I sent them back and got a refund as that is unacceptable.  My latest JSB’s are also worthless but I can’t return those.  H&N have been and are the most consistent and accurate(barricade hunters).  I cleaned my barrel, no help, but I can go back to my known good pellets and print ragged holes so I know it’s the pellets

Mine likes 10.5 grain crosman domes in the 1250 count, barracuda hunters, JSB 10.34.  Un sorted these all shoot very nice   The best are the barracuda hunters even the extremes shoot well and average .3” to .4” groups at .25 meters.  I just got a box of crosman I sent back that weren’t worth shooting and a tin of JSB 10.34 that are so bad they aren’t worth shooting either.  No visible problem I can see off hand with either of them.  The H&N barracuda hunters beat the JSB in my gun/ tune.  The only light pellet I found that shoots excellent are Benjamin in the 750 count tin.  I will try a few more of those but suspect consistency from tin to tin will differ more than the European brands-just a guess.  With the crap JSB & Crosman batches, for those wondering, I know the pellets were bad because groups returned to normal when I went back to my known good pellets.  Try the pellets I listed one of them will shoot for you.

My Marauder is regulated, Lothar Walther barrel, and tuned to 780fps with the 4.5mm heavies fyi
