You might want to look at something with a bit more punch if taking coyotes. Something like the Benjamin Bulldog has similar power  to  a .380ACP handgun.

With the AGNation promo code and free ship Fridays the price would be very close to the BT65 rifle.

In .22 for squirrel body shots I like the Hunters. They expand well leaving at 930fps on shots from 20-50 yards. They almost always expand and stop on the opposing hide.  I have the Hades as well and they will usually pass through making the same shots.

I can’t comment on the Polymags, never tried them because even if there is a small performance boost I can’t justify the price.

Don’t most manufacturers offer dish or cup based bullets that obturate at airgun pressures?

For normal air gun ranges in the smaller calibers I don’t think rifle or pup style makes much of a difference.

Getting into the larger airguns with some decent recoil the style may affect shooter accuracy

There is a reason why snipers haul around a heavy as hell 50BMG. Imagine firing a  30” skeletonized ultra lite 50BMG……the thing would probably rip your fingers off and dislocate your shoulder before sailing over your back.

I think you should try poly coated pellets and slugs just because it would be cool as hell to see how they perform in Airguns.

I don’t think bore rider pellets would work that well. With only the very end of the soft lead skirt being well engraved it might not have enough “bite” to hold it into the rifling. Then the pellet flies straight down the barrel and shreds the skirt.

After looking at the chart the Eunjins may have a decent shot of working since they will be engraved two thou on the head. I think most .25 pellets will give you a half thou engraving if your lucky.

Missouri Bullet Company has a good selection of coated grooved bullets. I would think with the grooves and polymer coating the barrel friction would be less and save a fair amount of air.

I have used them for years to reload for 45-70 and have been very satisfied with quality and service.

Shippings is $14 for up to 65 pounds of bullets.

I'm sure you know the saying high they die, low they fly. Their vitals sit high in the body and a lower chest shot just hits meat. Hope this helps, good luck I love shooting them.

    Beat me to it Ghost.

Try to take broadside shots with your most accurate pellet. Domes will most likely penetrate through both lungs and the sucker will gas out fast.

The Varmint is the long barrel version I believe. With Baracudas or Monsters it should be around 45-50fpe gun.

How is it sound wise? I’m curious about the report and gas piston operation.

I’m thinking of swinging by to take a look at this new AEA gear.

The info that is online right now is somewhat vague. It looks like you can choose a bolt action or semi auto action and then build how you like.

With the same tune, slugs will lose more energy to barrel friction than pellets.

For the most part pellets will all have about the same amount of rifle engraving, around the skirt and on the sides of the head. So a 16gr pellets will lose about the same amount of energy as 21gr.

Slugs on the hand will continue to lose more energy as the weight increases since the whole body of the slug is engraved.

If you’re worried about passthrough look at the CCI segmented 40gr rounds. At 50yards a  clean vitals hit will drop em fast. I’ve used them on chucks and they will barely pass through. Often the fragments will stop in the opposite hide.
