Gamo Hunter 890 and springer vs gas piston?

Thanks outdoorman. That means I probably made a mistake in ordering the ARH "tune kit". (Which has the E3650 spring.) I got the impression that it was applicable to all Gamo "Hunters". 😧

Gamo Hunter 890 and springer vs gas piston?

Thanks. From watching some videos of tuning these Gamo's, I'm pretty sure my 890 is a springer.

Gamo Hunter 890 and springer vs gas piston?

Hi all. I've recently reacquired my old Gamo Hunter 890 from a friend, and in doing some research, I'm not sure if this is a "springer" or gas piston rifle. It's definitely a break-barrel. This also confuses me. I've noticed the same rifles, (at Airgun Depot), listed under break-barrel and gas...

Is there a good airgun "bible"?

Hey Don. Are talking about "Ways of the Rifle", by Gaby Buhlman? https://www.amazon.com/Ways-Rifle-Technique-Gaby-Buhlmann/dp/3000094784

Is there a good airgun "bible"?

Thanks John. If I find anything, I'll let you know. A lot of info popped up on Giggle. One of the reasons I like the 10m distance is that I'm having fun playing with this little Umarex Strike-Point, with just one pump. Quiet, but still fun. (And I doubt I'll put my eye out.)

I'm just here for the scenery

That's one of the things I miss, living in Florida. The weather's nice, but everything is flat as a board.

Is there a good airgun "bible"?

I just "googled" the distance thing, and was pleasantly surprised to find that 10 meters, (33 ft.), is a typical airgun range. As my hallway is 38 ft., and my backyard 3x this, I should be able to set up a couple of nice ranges for both rainy-day and sunny day weather.

Is there a good airgun "bible"?

Just wondering if you all had a recommendation for a good airgun book. Like "Chapman's Piloting" is to boating. On a side note, one of the things I'm interested is "standard" shooting distances for various airguns. Pistols, rifles, etc. Thanks all; Artie

Need recommendations for "low powered light alloy pellets".

So, I just ordered the JSB Green Match Lights, and then, just for the fun of it, I ordered some JSB Diabolo Exact Beast 16.2 gr. I’m curious to see how this pistol handles a really heavy pellet. I’ll report back. BTW, I wonder why they named them "Diabolo", which is basically a Chinese yo-yo...

    SABOT PLEASE

Thanks for that explanation fuznut. I need to find a good "airgun" book. (Or hang out here more often than I do.)

That's part of the problem. I'm not sure how light I want either. This is for an in-house, rainy-day range, so I'm guessing, the lighter the better. I'll check out your suggestion as well as socaloldman's too. I'll report back. On a side note, I did snag some Crosman 5.4 gr. "fast flight"...

Thanks "oldman". Checking them out as we speak.

Need recommendations for "low powered light alloy pellets".

This is a sidebar from my "cleaning pellets" thread in the General forum. A forum member suggested that I try "low powered light alloy pellets", and I'm not exactly sure what that refers to. Can anyone recommend some specific pellets that match that description? Thanks.

    Cleaning pellets as indoor ammo?

I'll probably try something like that too. I'm not so concerned with staying dry as much as staying cool. First day of summer right around the corner. :D
