Pretty impressive racks on deer that aren't as beefy as I'm used to seeing with racks that size.

Bummer. I can get a normal one to fit and fill the gun. It's just very hard to remove but can be done with care and some long fingernails(aka my wife) or a small tool that can grab the release collar once it's up in the gun.

My Sniper XR came with a longer fitting.

I shoot a lot in cold weather, wood feels better to me than plastic or metal in those conditions.

On the prep side, once skinned and gutted, stick it in the fridge for a week. That will help break the tough collagen fibers down, it makes a difference! That pretty much goes for any game.
