    Multi-Tank Compressor Fill Station

Honestly I don't know about the ones at paintball fields - I've never been to one. I imagine that they likely don't do the cascade approach, but just gang a bunch of tanks together - and have the compressor set to fire up when the pressure drops below whatever they use as a set point (since...

    Compressor damaging internals

All of my fittings are steel, so I only really can show it on the one fitting that has seen almost every fill I've ever done - the ones on the guns don't show much of anything, at least that would show up in a picture. This is from the output of my Guppy tank, which I use for almost all fills...

    Carbon Tanks and Elevation Changes

I agree with Jim's point, and hope I did not convey concern about taking a tank up to altitude - my intent was completely the opposite . . . . I was trying to show that the altitude change itself is essentially meaningless, and that a big temperature change is noticeable but manageable (and not...

    Compressor damaging internals

That is likely not pressure-pulse related damage - that is plastic deformation from the load applied through the retaining ball bearings in the foster fitting. It is common on brass fittings like that one, even if they are only used in tank fill situations.

Taipan Taipan Slash first tuning report.

I have a K1 and am interested in the Slash - but reading through this thread I was disappointed in the degree of power spread available in tuning. But you say the spread is huge - can you elaborate? The K1 can easily change power level by more than a factor of ten with just the power wheel...

    Carbon Tanks and Elevation Changes

With all due respect ot @bchannell and @Gerry52 , I completely disagree . . . Higher elevation leads to lower atmospheric pressure, and secondarily usually also lower temperatures - but not always. As far as the change in atmospheric pressure goes, you can pretty much ignore it for any impact...

    Multi-Tank Compressor Fill Station

The Daystate will do fine in that role. I expect you probably know this, but the best way to get the most fills out of that bank of cylinders would be to use them sequentially in a cascading manner - pick one tank to start with, and always open it first. When the pressure stabilizes, close...

new to PCP and need a portable compressor

I'll second the comments that have been made about protecting yourself for future growth in the hobby. Since you seem to already know you like this hobby, I'd plan on someting that can fill tanks. Filling your gun from tanks is so much better than waiting for a compressor. And when shooting...

    Figuring it out!

Use that great fill station at work for as long as you can before buying a compressor. If I had access to free use of that when needed, I would not buy a compressor when I had the money - I'd buy a second 9L tank!

Which air compressor are you rocking?

I fill with a Shoebox Max that is over 11 years old, and it just works great with no signs of slowing down (pun intended). It is slow, but who cares - since it is a very robust "set it and forget it" compressor, it does it's thing filling tanks (even two at at a time with a splitter) while I do...

    1" @ 25 yds. v 2" @ 50 yds.?

Generally, the relationship between levels of accuracy at different distances is not strictly linear - it is a little worse than that. So a gun that would shoot 1" groups at 25 yards would probably do a little worse than than 2" at 50 yards even without the effect of wind. It's just the...

    Benjamin Bulldog .357 arrived

If the gun ends up being a keeper (for either you or your nephew), and the loud action continues to be an annoyance, you could likely quiet it down some with some mastic applied to it. IT is pretty cheap stuff from Amazon. It does not look great, but it makes the gun more pleasant to shoot...

Coltri MCH 6 Owners, get in here, this thread is for you!!

With a quality desiccant filter, it is simply not possible to have any liquid water occur in the lines after it. Since the filter is built into the compressor, it does not matter where the tank is in space relative to the compressor . . .

Western Airguns Western Mordax Venom, first impressions, and eventual ongoing review.

Nice review and I'm glad you like it, but I highly doubt your mag advancement issue has anything to do with the slight over fill of the gun . . . and what a beautiful spot! I don't have a Mordax, but I do have a Sidewinder and Huben K1 (both in .22) and both had mag advancement issues for...

Issue with GX Pump Air Filter

Unfortunately, it will only help if it lets out a bit of a "dump" of air, as in much more than the compressor puts out at a normal rate. If the regulator is really precise in terms of what it passes, the flow rate at output won't be any higher than the flow rate of the compressor - and if to an...
