Flip up covers for Hawke Sidewinder 4-16x50?

Hi, I love my sidewinder but I have got pretty bored with screwing and unscrewing the factory aluminium dustcovers. Trying to get the right Butler Creek ones but they don't list Hawke on their pdf guide nor does their sizing chart help too much. I know this is a popular scope out there so any...

Help with flying with a PCP!

I am going to travel by air and I just realised my airgun, fx superswift, was shipped to me with a charge of 160bar. TSA says the gun has to fly w/o any air. How do I get the air out? Unscrewing the front tube only lets a tiny amount out at a time. Getting the flight today... :/

Welcome to AIRGUN NATION - please introduce yourself here!

Hello Everyone - My name is David,38, originally from the UK now living in the South West of Nicaragua. A couple of years ago I stumbled across Ted's and other great airgun video channels from the UK on youtube that brought me back into the airgun world after 20 plus years away. I was blown away...

Feral cat vs wildlife vs my family

MEC17670 - I like you're approach and I think I will adopt a hybrid version of that - culling then spay neutering the few left. There are so many here that the constant fighting and mating racket got old long ago. I read a neutered feral will keep other colonies/cats at bay and a few can be...

Feral cat vs wildlife vs my family

Wow! It's been a couple of weeks since I checked this thread and look what happened.... Love all the replies for and those seemingly slightly against. All good education for a born again airgunner :D By the way, Scotty, I am located in South West Nicaragua and I know exactly what you mean with...

    Hogzilla Down!

Wow, I'm so envious of you and Manny. Helping control a large pest in a stunning part of the world that you can eat and all with a pellet gun = epic!

Feral cat vs wildlife vs my family

Thanks for the anecdotes and level headed advice from everyone. It's in pretty short supply in these parts! The few friends I have mentioned it to all disapproved of or couldn't bare eliminating them or other pests. I was starting to wonder if I was the one who was crazy! I certainly have no...

Feral cat vs wildlife vs my family

Adam - not sure how to respond as I don't know what your point is by posting this. I grew up on a small farm. We had livestock and often a bad rat problem. I had a HW77 .22(why did I ever sell that rifle?!) sub 12ftlbs but I wasn't very good at shooting rats in the dark with iron sights so my...

Feral cat vs wildlife vs my family

Thanks for the advice, Manny - you're one of the guys I was really hoping would give me some feedback. I have a .22 FX Cutlass from AirgunsofArizona am picking up in the US next month. I'm going to have to be really stealthy about the culling part of the plan as some of the neighbours are the...

Feral cat vs wildlife vs my family

I know this will be a controversial topic to some but remember I am not talking about STRAY cats but FERAL cats here and I am outside of the US where (house)cats are not a protected species. That being said I was wondering if any of your experienced hands on here have seen positive results (in...

Good all round scope for an FX Super Swift/Cutlass .22 for PCP newbie

So after much deliberation and a little more research the winner is the Hawke Sidewinder 30 series 3-12x 50. Seems like it is a good idea to spend a bit more on a scope for nightwork plus a bigger objective. And then I'm not really a "tactical guy" anyway lol

Good all round scope for an FX Super Swift/Cutlass .22 for PCP newbie

Thanks for the info, Pheel. I'm beginning to lean towards a Hawke Sidewinder(3-12x 50 30 series or 4.5-14x42 tactical). Any other comparably good scopes I should look at? Enjoyed the diy nightvision vids. I notice though that a Nitesite Viper isn't a great deal more. For now though I think I...

Good all round scope for an FX Super Swift/Cutlass .22 for PCP newbie

Thanks for all the responses. The one issue I can see with a NV scope is getting it to this country. Legality could be an issue here(which reminds me I need to research this!). Otherwise, is there such a noticable difference going from the sub 200usd range to a scope over 400usd for a pcp...
