    Field Target Pistol

I've owned two 1720s, and both were tack-drivers capable of the 12 foot pound AAFTA pistol power limit simply by drilling the transfer-port out; a SIMPLE 15 minute job. All details of my testing and tuning of both are in the attachment below; kind of a short-course on 1720s for FT. FWIW, after...

Events May 3 TEXtreme Field Target Match Announcement (CANCELLED)

Friends, With Ranchito Robinson too muddy to mow due to heavy rain yesterday, and every forecast I've seen calling for 40-60% chances of precip and storms all day tomorrow, I'm cancelling the Extreme FT matches scheduled for this-coming Saturday, May 3. The rain date is next Saturday, May 10...

Events May 3 TEXtreme Field Target Match Announcement (CANCELLED)

CANCELLED. Rain date is next Saturday, May 10. Weather permitting, in another deviation from the usual TEXtreme monthly match schedule (again by popular demand) our Saturday, May 3 matches will be Rifle and Pistol Extreme Field Target in order to allow shooters quality practice for the upcoming...

N/A Making an airgun something it was not intended to be

Thanks for the nice feedback Bobby, but seeing what you, Scott and others can do (not only with machinery, but machining SKILLS and creativity) impresses me immensely. For instance, though I've considered how awesome a Red Wolf pistol might be, never thought it possible! Then you show up with...

N/A Making an airgun something it was not intended to be

In my opinion, a more upright, less contorted shooting position. Also less pistolesque. FWIW, had the liberal voices prevailed the only difference between an Open Class FT rifle and an FT pistol would be a pistol grip instead of a butt-stock. .

N/A Making an airgun something it was not intended to be

Being the individual most responsible for Pistol Field Target rules, I can explain it. I was not only one of the five PFT rules committee members (plus a Chairman) assembled by AAFTA to compose a set of pistol rules for the Board Of Governors to consider, but am also the individual that...

FX In search of 215 ft lb from FX impact M4 .35

I would recommend a well-known and highly-respected PCP tuner/rodder, but won't bother considering even he can't change water to wine.

    Let's talk timers!

I might give that a try... but for, say, $20 per shot. ✋💵 Because I'm such a generous match director...🤥 And Ronny needs another supercar! .

    Huben Latest GK1 wunderpistol wonderment

Sure, UL. After much tuning both when I had only 250 BAR charging capabilities, and after I (now) have 350 BAR capabilities, I located the sweet-spot charge pressures to return at least a full 19-shot magazine within acceptable extreme velocity spreads (30 FPS or less). Of course the velocity...

    Let's talk timers!

I allow as many additional sighting shots as anyone wants; and each one that doesn't fell the proper target COUNTS as a(nother) ZERO ON HIS SCORECARD. Matter of fact I took two sighting zeros at my last match. .

    Let's talk timers!

If you think enduring three-man squads is a pain, you should try figuring out how to minimize their effect (as a match director). That can be(come) quite a puzzle, in itself.:rolleyes::mad: I don't like puzzles.🤬 .

    Let's talk timers!

In my opinion that would encourage some that take advantage of every legal advantage to not reset the targets they drop, and (even) purposely tangle reset lines. That could burn a minute off the next guy's timer. You might think I think some competitors are disposed to winning at all costs...

    Huben Latest GK1 wunderpistol wonderment

FWIW, I've achieved 1 MOA average groups at 100 yards with less powerful air RIFLES than GK1s, with at least 16X rifle scopes. However hundred-yard pistol shooting is some magnitudes more difficult. As powerful air pistols go, the GK1 is pretty danged small and light. Gven the shroud attachment...
