    California turkey hunting

Are you in norcal, central, or socal? I'd be all over the turkey hunting if I was still in CA, some of the best airgun laws for what you can hunt. Keep an eye out for quail spots for fall while you're scouting. Some of the good turkey habitat will hold cubbies - the drainage cuts in the hills...

I didn't pull the trigger,,,,,, I jerked it all the way back!

I don't think the daystate huntsman line is one anyone can bring themselves to sell second hand.. They're practically wall hangers they look so good.

I didn't pull the trigger,,,,,, I jerked it all the way back!

Grats on your first dive into an empty bank account! I purchased the huntsman regal a few years back from them. I'd recommend buying a tin of the JSB 15.89 gr as well and not being afraid to test a half dozen or so other pellets out. I don't know about the revere but the previous huntsman...

*Optical phenomenon* or a curved barrel - pellet flight starts off center - SOLVED

We have a winner for the cause of this phenomenon! @spinj was correct in that the camera wasn't lined up perfectly down the scope but had a correct parallax, shifting where the pellet "appeared" to be in the scope until it hit the target at the focus range. Videos from two tests attached - no...

Cost to get tank tested and filled

In my area I was quoted around $70 for the test and certs on a 4500 psi tank. I've seen the 45-70 range, but many places can't do the 4500 psi tanks if that's what you have. Make sure you specify the pressure, most dive shops cap on 3500 psi. Refill prices vary. Apparently some firestations...

    Airacuda Brawn

Some people might like that kind of action. I guess this rifle caters to a specific type of individual.

Panthera— first thoughts after a week

No more excuses then 😆 I think half the tinkering I do on my daystate regal is to shake off the fact that I might just not be a consistent 50 yard MOA shooter.. but shh

    Which Zero would you use

25-40 is effectively zeroed for that entire range (0.1 inches holdunder at most), it covers the 30-35 very well. The 20-50 has 0.5 inches of hold-under which I'm not a fan of. It's up to your preference but that would be my thinking. I think the 25-40 is also an ideal distance for most...

    Dove hunting

Just a heads up the only doves legal to shoot with an air rifle in the US are Eurasian-collared doves and rock pigeons, if your state regs even allow them. The OP is outside the US with different regulations.

    A first for me

I once spent an hour shooting a branch trying to get a squirrel down. The solution to getting most* of it wasn't pretty..

*Optical phenomenon* or a curved barrel - pellet flight starts off center - SOLVED

If I kept the scope mounted the same, set the parallax to 20 yards with a marker in the line of site at 20 yards, and then shot the target at 50 yards - the camera should show the pellet pass center reticle at the 20 yard mark (which would not appear to be on target at 50) before hitting the...

*Optical phenomenon* or a curved barrel - pellet flight starts off center - SOLVED

While there might be some curve to the shot I don't think it explains how the pellet is THAT far to the right just a few yards out when it first pops into the scope. The first clip would be >.72 inches (>1 mil) of curve in just 20 yards on a calm day with 16 gr pellets. I had to look up barrel...

*Optical phenomenon* or a curved barrel - pellet flight starts off center - SOLVED

In the first clip there is a single frame where you can see the pellet starts ~1.5 mils to the right. The thing with the gun being dead on is that I dialed the turrets to that distance and trial and errored the windage. I assumed at the time that my windage was actually due to the wind.. but...
