Official 2025 Pyramyd AIR Cup thread!

The part that I believe is significant is that if this was run like all the other hundred yard matches ( 1 card) … Nikolay would not have won and nobody would be caring about what pellets he shot.

I believe that fact should make people question things about what they think is important and why.

Nobody considered his pellets an advantage at the last 100y event.

Nicolai has skills, so I think whether his pellets are technically mass-produced isn't an issue. He talked about how he started a company to produce pellets at RMAC just to fit the mass production criteria. With sanctions it's difficult for him to get pellets, so I'm more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I did. If I would have attended RMAC, I had intention on protesting it.

He has skill, yes. That has zero to do with the topic. Most of us have a level of skill that shoot Pro.

You know we also have in common; it’s a huge cost and commitment to make it to these events. My sponsorship doesn’t pay for any travel expenses other than a team airbnb, jerseys and a discount on their products. Taking vacation, paying for all else involved (fuel & food), the time to prepare, time away from my family and efforts to road trip thousands of miles on my vehicle all play in. We have to have fair play and compliance with clear rules.

If I was a betting man which I’m really not, I’d bet if he wasn’t shooting FX he’d be called out for it. Oops 🙊 did I say that 😱 ‼️

I’ll be the guy that calls him out and the organizers. Someone needs to. It really makes zero sense to allow it.

Thanks Dave.

No, I understood the time management challenges with having multiple events. Thanks for articulating. At least two cards were used in the finals.

It appears that the major sponsors holding these annual air rifle events feel justified in keeping multiple events in their existing format. Additionally, if a majority of the usual 150-200 participants continue to want this content, then it’s understandable.

I do wonder if there might someday be a benchrest only event?
Happens Every August in Raton New Mexico. :)

And this is ALL that REALLY matters‼️

Hopefully Steve Scialli got an interview with Nicolay and we can hear more about his rig, equipment and PELLETS. Surely he did.................

During the shooter's meeting the RO pointed out that NO ONE is to be on the concrete pad during a match other than the shooters of that relay. I can only assume that three videographers had advanced permission to be on the pad during the match?

Sometimes Steve or his cameral were 6" away from shooters faces during qualifying and final rounds. He was really annoying and LOUD and I heard a LOT of complaints from other shooters about his antics. I enjoy his YouTube reviews and I am not attacking him as a person but rather pointing out his conduct DURING a match if he had not considered it before? I also saw him step beyond the firing line while filming, during a hot range, which would have had him expelled immediately from any NRA match. There is a time and place for close up filming and DURING a match isn't it ... IMHO.

On the other hand Stephen (Hard Air Magazine) a Pyramid employee and Michael were there filming as well and they waiting for the appropriate time to do their filming and were courteous to other shooters around them. Its hard enough shooting in a large match and maintaining one's concentration without the added distractions of someone's hind end in your face. I would merely ask Steve to consider putting himself in our place if the proverbial shoe was reversed?
