hi all, i’m looking around for a new pcp. need some input.
my checklist is
-shorter than 28”
-.22 cal
-should be able to send 25gr 920+fps
-decent shot count. so bottled
-pellet and slug capable
- quiet at 30-40 fpe

choices are:
-fx maverick compact
-fx wildcat 3 bt
-ghost (i’ve shot one. it’s nice)

which would you members with personal experience with said gun(s) recommend?

Your 25 grain requirement is 46.99 fpe. The maverick and wildcat are the same gun in different chassis and I think they're fantastic and slept on. My vote is for a bottle mav or wildcat because I can speak the the gun, I haven't shot a ghost yet. Plus I know you can get a quiet 50 fpe out of a 500mm 22 maverick.

You know what you like… Maybe try and handle your other two choices… Either way it’s going to be interesting what you decide on…🙏
i have my eyes set on a BRK but one of my buddies already has it and after shooting it, i can see why you praise the BRK name so much. solid piece.
i’ve also shot a very built up maverick shooting moa. it’s ridiculous how easy a 1 inch target is when a gun is tuned and zeroed properly.
if a wildcat is just a maverick in a different dress, then i would rather choose the maverick.

i’ve also been looking at the caimans and uragan. the mora is a shooter but visually not too appealing to me. looks clunky

If 28" isn't a definite need. Uragan 1 570mm CZ 1:17.7" is 32.6" long. Throw in the Huma XL plenum Reg and the gun comes to life. At 125 Bar you'll be sending 21 GR slugs down range @ 940, 135 @ 975, @140 Your 25grs will be at 931-935 At least this is my experience. I don't know many guns more efficient than this. I'm at 48FPE slinging 25gr .217 HP2 at ~932.5 getting MOA accuracy at 100. This gun is blast proof.

If you're budget is up there. U2/U3 are capable of much higher power. The U1 is a traditional Poppet valve and hammer spring. I would estimate tops out mid 60s fpe. the U2/U3 600mm Are capable of 50fpe in .177. Still 32.6". With their balanced valve and larger plenum, develop way more energy than the first iteration

hmm. thanks for the info. i’ll look more into them. nearing my max budget is the ghost and if i can find another gun that sway my interest for less moola. that would be great.
i also got to shoot the mora, very nice gun but it didn’t feel like it was for me.. if that makes sense. i like a gun that feels nice shouldered.

avaiable in 700 (i think this video is) 600 and compact
nice lookin gun so far. it sounds like i have to bleed the air from the gun to lower the regulator pressure according to utah airguns. i can’t seem to find any info on velocities and shot count with the standard version

edit: oops this was meant for the krait @bernieorosz

Krait Is a hell of a gun. I’m partial to airmaks and AGT. You can’t lose either way. The krait is a gentle gun. I don’t know about .22 but my Katran .177 was shooting 31fpe the highest I took it @JaceSpace1369 has a krait L .177 and would achieve equal power 15-18Bar lower than me. There was plenty of room left for myself to go. Not that this helps you. But I highly doubt you’ll have any trouble getting the energy you want

You can bypass degassing the whole gun by putting a buddy bottle and buddy valve on it when tuning, that way you can remove the bottle, and simply degas the plenum before doing the rest of the work. It saves you lots of time and air.

Give all of your specifics requirements you'd be hard pressed to find something that isn't custom made.

I had a U2 .22 700mm came to me doing 935 with 25gr HN slugs and I got about 140 shots per fill. But it was a 39" gun without a moderator.

You can get 110 poops with an impact compact shooting 18gr pellets at 880fps, but you'd be hard pressed to get 30 shots making the 48fpe you're looking for out of that same gun unless you put 2 bottles on it.

I've had the Edgyn lelya, at 23" it made 38fpe with the huna reg at 135b, the reg tops out at 150b.

The Cricket 2 .45 .22 is 27.7" without a moderator and it topped out at 41fpe with the reg at 130b but it did not like being set that high in the fpe with that reg setting.

perfect. now it’s down to maverick and ghost.. reconsidering mora. more toward ghost because it’s already got a huma reg plus i’ve actually handled it and shot it.

now, anybody here shot/heard the ghost plus and ghost carbine side by side? i’m wanting to know the noise level of each gun compares. the plus is looking like it’s got a bigger bottle and a slightly longer shroud. wondering if this makes it noticeably quieter

how’s maintenance on the gun? and how’s the stock regulator?
