I bit the bullet ordered n next week my first swaging dies should arrive. Any suggestions on the lead wire I should get?
Almost pure leas with a very small percentage of tin maybe? I'm only approaching this from the perspective of a bullet caster and trying to apply it to the swaging process. The tin may be an unnecessary expense and pure lead might be sufficient.I bit the bullet ordered n next week my first swaging dies should arrive. Any suggestions on the lead wire I should get?
Appreciate it. Just dipping my toe in to see if I like itYou might try contacting Neilsen Slugs (NSA). They sell the same wire that is used to make their own slugs. Nick can also tell you the correct diameter and approximate length to cut.

Do you swage with their lead. I like his slugs guess I’ll contact them thanks muchNSA wire is high quality very pure and clean. A+
I’ve used it to swage some pellets. My next spool of wire will come from them.Do you swage with their lead. I like his slugs guess I’ll contact them thanks much
To be honest I’ve only found a couple places that don’t want to sell like 1000lb spool. Wanting to hear back from nsa. Hoping I can get something a little smaller. I’m only starting with the gmi engineering slug mast kit. I don’t want to have to swage n sell slugs to be able to afford the hobbyI’ve used it to swage some pellets. My next spool of wire will come from them.
If you don’t like my question you can just move on. I have looked on the web! Last time I checked the point of this is to discuss experiences, get opinions, n maybe helpful advice. Sorry I bothered you so muchPyramid and Corbins sell in 10 lb lots . Look on the web !
They do offer a .210 for .22, but can live with .200 that NSA offers. If they lowered their prices, I would give it a spin. Not if you get the size you need or have to have .![]()
It's pure leadThe diff is NSA is not pure lead and therefore can lead to problems with some dies . Dies are not cheap !
