Rookie to the “air” world!!

Hello all! I am a new air rifle owner, got a .22 cal Gamo Swarm Maxxim Gen 2. Not the best .22 by any means but it’s gonna get me started. Any tips for the gamo’s Would be greatly appreciated! New to airguns not guns in general. Thanks for the help and welcome in advance!

Welcome Welcome Welcome. I too am relatively new to the airgun world. I have a gamo varmint .177 and a hatsan at44 177. Though I can't offer you any information about your gun I guarantee that you will be able to get all the information from others here. The members are very generous with their knowledge. I would suggest that you go to the 'general' category and reintroduce your self there rather than the question category. But any way I hope you find as much entertainment from this forum as I have and once again, Welcome. Agnutty

Welcome to the circus of Airgunning!

I’ve been addicted to buying hunting stuff ever since I was drawing a paycheck🤣 I’m far too into it now to back out
@Quality Shooter Well at least I'm not the only one. Welcome to the forums. I know nothing about your particular Gamo, but I think if you enjoy shooting it you'll be upgrading soon enough. Before long you'll be asking about Weihrauchs and compressors.

Hi QS, welcome to AGN. Since you asked:cool:, Do yourself a favor and buy an assortment of pellets. By Brand, and by weight. JSB and H&N are the best as far as my experience goes. BUT you never know what your rifle or pistol may like the best. If your lucky it could be one of the cheaper brands. You never know. Try different holds or hand placement. Many Spring air rifles are hold sensitive and will be more accurate if held a certain way. Drawing out these little nuances to make the air gun as accurate as possible can be one of the goals in this hobby.

Welcome!
IMO Trade that bad boy in and get yourself a .25 pcp. Plenty of them on here and I'm sure someone will cut you a heck of a deal since your just starting out. You'll be busting squirrels and birds at 100+yrds easy.

Back to your original question if it were me and I wanted to possibly mess my gun up and injur myself I would research something called dieseling that's all I will say.

And before I catch an earfull from everyone for even bringing this up. I don't recommend trying it yourself. I recommended buying a rifle that has the power that you are looking for.

Don't worry if it's the "best". If it does what you want shoot it and enjoy. Also welcome aboard.
