N/A No scope on my pistols .

014.JPG

I use scopes usually Burris 7x for 25and + yards.I want the tightest groups ,usually about 3/8 -1/2" I can not do it with out a scope...now my "fun" pistols =No scopes.,but I not shooting 25 yds

I got my new Huben yesterday. Last evening got to try in cellar with stock iron sights. I then realized I couldn’t see the front sight at all. I haven’t shot my Kimber 1911 in awhile and this was a surprise. I already ordered a 2-7 pistol scope for the Huben anyway but now I have to find a very compact red dot for my carry gun.

I prefer iron sights on a pistol that can be easily held and shot like a pistol.
I'll also put a red dot on a few more accurate pistol - like the GK1.
I do have a few with pistol scopes but those are bigger or heavier pistols that need to be shot off a bag. I just can't understand a rifle scope with 3" eye relief on a pistol - seems to defeat the purpose.

For mine it’s a true pistol scope same offhand hold. There is not many made. The one I have is a UTG and is disappointing so far as to clarity. Burris makes a 2-7 also for twice the money .

I tried one and it did not stay on the pistol very long. Makes the gun to big and heavy. I like to shoot standing, offhand bullseye style, one handed. sometimes sitting in a patio chair, two handed with gun still extended at arms length. Doing that the eye relief is still not long enough to suit my style.
Burris is the only actual long eye relief scope i can find 12( 14 ?) to 20 inch

I haven't looked for handgun scopes for a while and I am shocked that theres really nothing out there any longer. WOW! Leupold and Burris used to make some nice ones. I have a very nice little Leupold FX-II 4x pistol scope and a Weihrauch 2x - both small and light.

Leopold still makes a Pistol scope but it is 100 yard parallax and 9 inch eye relief if i remember correctly when i think pistol scope i think standing free hand arm length hold .

As many others have said, scopes on pistols defeat the value of a pistol. They are only usable if shooting at a fixed target at a known distance. They offer a narrow field of view, sit way too high above the barrel and take far too long to acquire a target sight picture. I understand the reasoning behind their use, the end user should be using a rifle if they cannot shoot a pistol.

For those folks that can shoot a hand gun, but no longer have the young eyes required to use iron sights, the best alternative is to use a small reflex sight with a small dot without magnification. I need reading glasses now at the young age of 80 to see the front sight on a pistol. I can still shoot tight groups using iron sights, but I'm not altogether certain those tight groups will be on my intended target, so I now use reflex sights. Jus sayin!

ok so I do have uses for a long eye relief scope.
I’ve got cheap CV life red dots on my Reximex rpa and Beeman 2027.
They work very well but wanted some magnification. This is for longer target
than the 10 or 15 yards I can use the red dots for, another use is to identify
small pest birds.
I just got a 22 Huben gk1 and put a utg 2-7 pistol scope on it has a eye
relief up to 20 inches . I need about 17 inches for two hand grip and 11 inches
if bracing left elbow on chest. It works fine for that but is not in focus at pistol
distances ( say 5 to 30 yards). The only other is the very same looking
Burris 2-7.
Is the Burris clear at shorter ranges?
I see scopes on others posts, are these just rifle scopes that you put your eye to?
Leupold stopped making a good one and they’re $1000 on eBay.
The utg has to go back. Anybody know any other options that have some magnification?
Thanks,
Mike
