Shooting tube Post deleted by OP

Dog agility course tubes work ok on a couple of cables. When you are done they accordion up to a couple inches. They will block most of the wind.

If you are putting anything above ground you will be subject to sun. Black corrugated pipe can be a disaster to shoot through in midday sun....especially with low power guns. Pellets go everywhere for no reason that can be seen...but it's the heat.

I have researched a lot and came up with two comfortable solutions .
1. 8 foot tall cedar privacy fence on sale , two rows 75 feet long with a Visqueen roof . easy and just walk to your targets . $$$
2. A frames with a visqueen cover , need to bury the bottom edges or wind will get under . $

The title brought back some memories……

On the tube subject, wouldn’t shooting without wind be rather boring?

I am retired so just choose the days to shoot , or most of the time just put up with the wind .
I am currently looking for a factory/ barn that would let me set up a target down the main isle weekends when no workers are present . (fat chance !!)

Just put up some wind flag/indicators and have fun, I use bird tape. I found myself shooting only 5-10 shots at most if there is no wind. I work from home mostly and can shoot just about any time I have an opening between meetings.

You might look into organizations that you are already in. For example, your church might have some long hallways. The AF&AM lodge that I am in approved shooting airguns in the building.

Considering you sucked me in with your click-bait, and assuming by now saner heads have given you economical ideas, I'm going to honor the first three words of your thread title, "Let's get crazy".🤪 No-one is more qualified than me.

I once researched materials costs to build an airgun shooting tunnel, but to fifty yards. After deciding it too costly, I spent $300,000 and years of hard labor on a 40 acre home-place, and cleared an 83 yard shooting lane through the thickest cover on my heavily cedared place that is now the only Extreme Field Target competition venue in Texas. Lane 3, aka- The Tunnel Lane can be discerned running horizontally across the bottom third of the aerial photo below (of about half my place).

Understand the cedars are thicker than the grass and weeds in my 'lawn', stand 15-20' tall, and each one of the trunks branch into 3-12 plus trunks like this-

So although the tunnel lane isn't totally windless, it does a pretty good job until the winds exceed about 20 MPH.

What a bargain for only $300K, huh?

BTW, I've trained Whizkerz to yowl like a banshee every time my opponents step up to Lane 6 to take their forced STANDING shots.🤣 He may be good for nothing else, but he's damned good at that!

.

Thanks all but understand this will be in my backyard next to a Satcom airforce base in a town where it is illegal to shoot airguns and code enforcement are tough. It will be shooting bench height and run along a fence line in trees.

Changes everything ! should have said in the OP . two of the above mentioned shipping containers would work , and you could put acoustic tiles inside .

This is BY FAR the best option yet!!!! Let me talk with my wife and I will find something up here in my area to do this!

you are very correct, so it has to blend and hide. In the spring thru early fall not an issue as it will hide in a tree line. And when I say next to, I mean about 150 yards from the north fence of said base.

tim
You are just aching to have a Military type SWAT Team visit you aren't you?

It's illegal to shoot air guns in your area. So you want advise to get around that little problem.
Next your near an Military Base that MIGHT just get wondering what your up to. That's another small problem.
Then you want to hide what you are up to. Generally a bad idea given your right next to a freaking MILITARY BASE!
150 yards away? They WILL know what you are doing, sort of! Maybe not that you want to shoot Air Guns there but enough to want to know exactly what your doing.
Then the Creepers will be checking you out. You will never know they have been there. Trust me, I was assigned to do that type stuff way back!

I am currently looking for a factory
I was looking for that around 2006 - when i practiced stunt driving on my quad bike CUZ i was too old and decrepit even back then to take it to the track, trust me i tried and it was no fun doing 2 laps every 45 minutes.
Also that flying on stuff, im too old for that BS, i fly in things not on things.

Just needed like 20 - 30 meters of fairly flat pavement to throw it down.
but No dice so i had to be creative / break the law CUZ while this country are all over minorities, well not the kind of minority i was / am.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just make a fairly light wooden frame, and then cover that in a plastic to keep the wind out. ?
that's what i said an A frame and Visqueen . actually the two containers would look like storage , lot of people use those for safe storage about $ 900 each around here . right not cheap unless you compare to a wooden structure .
