Cost $$ to fill a 75 Cu. Ft. tank in Reno Nv. ?

Where do you go? It's $8-$10 in deerfield and at palm beach airguns which is practically next door to me.
I don't. My buddy does when he can't give me his tank to fill. He mentioned that it's about 15 bucks at a paintball location. But I have an alkin so I'm covered.

A buddy of mine has a compressor to fill our tanks as well so we don't pay someone else but those are the prices I've seen locally. The place in deerfiled is a hydro testing spot.

Yes, they need to be hydro tested and recertificatified annually.

Not sure what you are referring to, but SCUBA tanks have to be visually certified annually, and hydro tested every 5 years.

SCBA tanks have to be hydro tested every 5 years, no visual required, and they expire after 15 years, period. No recert allowed by DOT.

For the OP, I have to pay $10 at local paintball stores in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area to fill a SCBA tank to 310 Bar (4500 PSI), and about $4 for a SCUBA tank to 210 Bar (3050 PSI).

Well that's not my case. My buddy and I have 6 SCBA tanks that were hydro tested AFTER expiring, and deemed good for year from the month that it was tested. And we were told that if we come past that expiration for a fill that it needs be to hydro tested before they do so.

First of all, there IS a recert period now, doubling the life of the tanks to 30 years, I mis-spoke on that part.

Are you sure it was a hydro test? Who did said test? It appears there is only one company in the US that can extend the 15 year life, Hexagon Digital Wave, LLC in Centennial, CO and they don't do a hydro test; rather, they use MAE, or Modal Acoustic Emission testing.

I guess they are now owned by Summit Fire and Security for LLC so the hydrostat website doesn't pop up but.

Not sure about some of this info in here. Maybe some are getting bad info from the places they go. In the US scba tanks have to be hydro tested every five years starting from the date of manufacture stamped on your tank. That testing is good for 15 years. After 15 years the life can be extended by the digital wave company mentioned. However, that test is very expensive and once done has to be repeated every 5 years for the remainder of the 15 year extension. The 40 dollar hydro test no longer applies. You must send the tank back to digital wave for the several hundred dollar test every five years making the 15 additional year extension not economically viable. However if some of you have shops not following this I guess 🤷‍♂️ good for you as long as nothing happens but what is described above is how it is supposed to go down. This was verified after several in-depth conversations with digital wave themselves.
As far as cost here it used to be 10 bucks. I just recently in 2024 filled 2 tanks and it was 27 dollars. I was like damn.
