In our area, deer which had never before eaten certain plants now doing so. WA permits "discomfort" if annoyance, so my needs are not power. But accuracy and not being loud are important. Often, the deer are in groups, so I would like a semi auto to pop a few of them without having to rewind or reload after each shot. Airlift or BB am open to, and welcome advice on what to buy. Recap:

I would NEVER shoot at a deer think it would just sting it with a pcp. The pellet will get below the hide in nearly every case and undoubtedly cause damage to the animal.

I second the vote for an airsoft or paintball gun. Fairly accurate and short range and able to shoot rapidly depending on the gun chosen.

Paintball or better yet paint ball ammo and a slingshot , quiet
but no matter what you do you still have to be there at the time .

x4 on the paintball recommendations, plus a couple or three driveway alarms from Harbor Freight (or similar) to alert you of activity.

if your just wanting to scare off the deer, just cut up a bar of irish spring soap where its been seen at.
that will remedy your problem. an under powered gun is not the answer.

Paintball gun... if they're persistent, freeze the paintball before shooting.

In my opinion this approach is futile unless you plan to stay up for hours and hours as they will just come back when you are not there to shoot.

i can tell you that once we bring up peanuts to harvest, the soap keeps the deer from eating them as long as the soap is within 50-100ft of the product.
as with corn, we apply the soap shavings around the fields that are growing.
it works better than anything thats available today.....
even better than shooting the deer with destruction tags....

I have a gamo viper that shoots shot shells that I've found pretty useless for pretty much anything.
It might work for your situation but not at 150yds.

Change out vegetation to deer resistant ones. Easy. Simple. Not really expensive. You do not have to be there.

In the spirit of the law as written , I think it means something like an electric fence as a discomfort deterrent. Shooting an animal with anything will probably warrant a visit by authorities. Two electric fence wires strung parallel, and only 3" and 6" off the ground are shown to be a great deterrent for deer and squirrel. They need to be low because it is so low they get "deterred" while browsing, nose down or when walking in to browse. If it's high, they'll see it and know they need to jump it.

Thanks for replies, did not get a single specific suggestion for a model of gun, which was the question. Much appreciation on the alternative ideas, will try Irish Spring, and dog hairs from pet grooming. Can't do paintball as neighbors would ID me as the source. "Discomfort" IS legal in WA, I can't have venison as it is an over 55 community. The vegetation chosen was only once eaten in the last 20 yrs by one buck, as I mentioned, the deer for whatever reason now have different habits or tastes, and I will do the repellants but also want to have an airgun of some type, not a paintball gun, and that is quiet, for up to 150 FEET, what is the advice please, want to stay under $200, thanks.
