Yeah maybe a 1k$ plus pcp in .22 or a tuned out low end pcp.

Ok...

Your thread title and first post of ".22pcp vs .25 springer" didn't impose any such restrictions.

You posed a head-to-head question and got a head-to-head answer from me. I can't help it if reality doesn't conform to whatever preconceived expectations you have.

I mean you are right I didn’t want to make it more than a simple poll tho lol and I actually agree that most high end pcp .22’s are better than 90% of springers no matter the caliber

I was just going off the notion that the low end pcp airguns are pretty similar to a .25ballistically but I should have said that and I didn’t but you are 100% correct about most .22 pcp airguns being better ballistic wise.

* 100%

I kid.....sort of...not really ;)
I whent from BB guns and .177 pellet guns to .25 and .22 springers and than to pcp but I only have two pcp and there low end .22cal but I’ve got them tuned to hell and back and they penetrate farther in pine wood and clay than my .25 springers my next buy is going to be a huben gk1 in .25cal and I plan on getting the Hatsan blitz in .30cal so trust me I’m well aware of how much better pcp airguns can be even the .22 pcp airguns give you more of a feeling of calm when taking ethical shots and I absolutely am in love with pcp airguns I just want more and more lol.

I have the same problem. We're on the same page. Sounds to me like you have your answer.

Don’t forget a Daystate Huntsman. You’ll read it in other threads, and I wholeheartedly believe, the Huntsman is a rifle that belongs in a collection. It’s not a powerhouse, but they are just the complete package.

I’m already in love with it lol that wood is too damn clean and it being “bolt action” seems pretty cool and the scope it comes with looks promising.

I’m about to check em out never even heard of them thanks man. 🙏
Refined and classy

22 pcp hand down over an anemic 25 springer. A 30 fpe 22 will poke a nice hole in their head, a 25 doing 30 fpe could bounce off.

I've dropped them like a rock with 32 fpe in 22, and had one need a follow up when using my 36 fpe 25. Both pcps. Now when I use my 55 fpe 25, I can drop them with vital shots out to 30 yards by my experience. 55 fpe to the head with a 34 grain pellet has knocked a couple DRT.

Springers for plinking and fun. PCP's for hunting and precision target shooting.

Sure, you can hunt with springers, but in general they're less powerful, less accurate and slower to get a follow up shot with.

You can also plink with PCP's, but having to periodically recharge and pack all the gear is a drag. And IMO, so are magazines. Just cocking the rifle and pushing in a pellet is about as simple as it gets.

yeah I agree I find myself shooting my springers more just because I do get lazy and it’s the better method for just some good old plinking fun but like you said it will never compete with a pcp on numerous levels out to 20-30 yards I have a blast plinking with springers but beyond that the pcp rifles and pistols shine like no other in terms of accuaracy and fun.
