Hatsan Jet ( 1 & 2) - MAJOR upgrade for $0.05

I decided that I wanted the Jet 2 and a Notos...

The Jet 2 arrived today - and ... Not bad! Better than expected in fact. However, there was one MAJOR issue I just had to resolve - and that's the stock wobbling like a cheap pile of crap.

Having dealt with this on my AEA previously, I had a pretty good idea what I wanted to do, but it worked REALLY well, so I figured I'd share the 'secret' with anyone who happens to have a WobbleStock(TM) installed on their airgun.

On the Jet 2 - I removed the set screw on the left side of the stock, just behind the release button (3mm hex) and pulled the stock apart - then I ran a strip of 1" wide gaffer's tape along the spine of the stock that remained on the gun, wrapping it over the end. Then I replaced the stock's back end, and slid it forward, reinstalled the stop screw, and then expanded it to the max, and gently trimmed off the excess tape using a razor blade.

It's now ROCK solid. Makes the Jet 2 seem like a vastly higher quality gun in carbine mode, the $0.05 of gaffer's tape feels like a $200 upgrade!

Be SURE to wrap it over the end, so it doesn't bunch up inside the stock and make it damn near impossible to remove (ask me how I know....)

Nice! Thank you for this awesome tip!

Have you received the Notos yet? I'm really curious to hear an honest side-by-side comparison of the two. I have a Jet 1 in .25 and am very pleased with it.
Not yet... But you can bet I'll be forming some opinions soon on this. :)

I AM quite happy with the Jet 2 currently.

listen I do like my jet2 in .22 kinda wish I got the .25 I shot her again for the first time in about 2 weeks since getting the notos she only likes the 14.3 crosmans so far still have to try some others but again no comparison between the 2 the notos is better by a long shot.
Just from observation and a friend who has a Notos

The notos is a shooter solid and complete. Just add optic and go

Just got the Notos in. Played with a few configurations - it's a longboi for a pistol, but, once I swapped to the grips, and removed the rear section of pic rail, it makes a damn fine cheek-weld pistol setup that'll go in a bag nicely.

The moderator is literally glued to the barrel... And WELL glued at that. I confirmed it. Aggressively.

Mine does not wobble. It looks very much like a RexiMex knock off. I am surprised with the apparent good quality. Only got to shoot it three times today due to weather and sunlight, but so far at 15 yards it's shooting quite well straight out of the box using the OEM sights. We will see this weekend, will try 30 and 50 yards. This is the .177 iteration. The Jet is the bottom gun.

I'm still trying to find the post I saw the other day.. someone had taken the barrel and shroud off.. the rear rail screw has a set screw underneath it.. it's all that holds the barrel on.. and I saw another picture of the bottom of the moderator and it appears to have a plug in it.. I'm guessing that under the plug is a set screw holding on the moderator.. I plan on getting one and first removing the stock and putting on the hand grips and open sights.. did you happen to fire it with the moderator innards removed.. just wondering how loud it becomes.. because I have to remove the moderator so it will be somewhat a pistol.. hopefully I can machine it so I can screw the moderator on or off.. going to try 1/2x20 thread in case anyone wants to do a Donny FL.

Yeah, it's loud. Sounds like just under 20ft/lbs of energy out of a pistol. ;-)

The stock moderator works surprisingly well, given that it's made for 30 caliber.

How is the accuracy on your .177 Jet?
