Limited Edition anything

Seems like Daystate likes to create rarity for sales sake?
Over the years I’ve seen and enjoyed owning a few of these unicorns.
Nice hard cases, special finishes with matching moderators, laser etched logos and fancy stippling and sometimes stock upgrades? Supposedly they select special barrels ?
What is y’all’s thoughts on these guns?

Day state is notorious for ‘limited editions’ They bring them out so often it gets hilarious. Don’t be suckered into thinking that they are special or valuable. Don’t get me wrong, they make some excellent rifles, but will release a limited edition to commemorate the morning cup of tea.

Never owned a specifically "limited edition" Daystate...however I do have a Wolverine r .177 with a Forester stock and a .20 caliber Huntsmam Regal with an above average looking walnut stock. These standard production models are "fancy" enough to keep them out of doing no more than " controlled bench shooting" with blankets rings off and finger nails trimmed, would be the stuff of nightm

ares to bump or scratch one of them! The special editions would be nice for a conversation piece wall hanger but for the money I would rather own a vintage piece of history like an older Theoben for example. Current plain Jane airguns like the Kalibergun Mini Carbine and Steyr Pro X with their old world 1950's type build quility and appearance are more appealing to me...Still, I guess it's good to experience a few of both in a collection. Concerning barrel quility...This .20 cal Huntsman barrel, I assume standard production, is good enough for me....consider this shot group I did yesterday in a gusty peskie wind...13 shots at 30 yards with an 18x FX scope...more often than not same hole accuracy....I feel Huntsmans in general are vastly UNDERATED. I couldn't shoot a better barrel anyway and doubt if the majority of other shooters could either...standard is fine!

The last Daystates I specifically saw advertised as having select barrels were the CRX's. They are listed in the bluebook this way as well.
these are two Daystate 97SE 25 built #19 has a custom walnut stock,#15 is factory standard laminated. We shoot FT theme days at CASA

Stunning!! The CR series (CR94, CR97, CRX) are among the best ever built, including the latest and greatest. from the trigger to the silky smooth bolt, to the select barrels, truly custom rifles! Those two are exceptional. It looks like the walnut one has a Hako made in Japan period correct scope. Perfect match!

i agree about the huntsman esp .20 tuned by @Kerndtc - amazing work.

Anything I get thats a limited edition will get used too. Im not a collector I'm a user. If it doesnt have a use or fit a need I dont get it. Form and function come first, then aesthetics. Though I have to admit the Wolverine sapphire and blue alpha wolf are rather nice looking.
Absolute truth about using something for which it was made.

stunning workmanship !

stunning workmanship !
I have a Wolverine .22 Hi-lite non regulated - #50 of 50 - it is perhaps my most accurate of all my airguns. It really needs an adjustable Butt / Shoulder piece to assist in eyebox position since the cheek comb isn't adjustable.

Compare the above non regulated Wolverine to the new .177 Wolverine Sapphire Edition - very accurate also but it hasn't settled in yet.... don't know why airguns need time / shots to smooth out, but they do.

Then compare both of the above Wolverines to a "NOT" Special Edition shown below...
the simple but Beautiful .25 Wolverine HP R version in Forrest Laminate to which we added a K&L adjustable Shoulder Butt.
I actually prefer the K&L shoulder piece over the PRS unit as seen on the Sapphire above - although K&L was trickier to install.
