FX Impact M3 here. I bought the 22 version, but I think now I want the bigger cal 25 version. I thought I read somewhere that I will only need to buy the 25 cal barrel. No need to buy a brand 25 cal gun.

I may be speaking out of turn here but for my Dreamline it was barrel, pellet probe, and magazine for a caliber change

Probably the same reason I wanted a .30 for my Crown. And I never use it 
92fpe is cool, but it uses a ton of air and the ammo is considerably more spendy. Plus, when I fire it downrange, that projectile just keep trucking. Can hear it cutting thru the brush until it gets way out of earshot. Little unnerving for an airgun.

I thought about going to 30 for my crown if it ever becomes legal to hunt with here in pa. However this comment makes me wonder I really want too lol.Probably the same reason I wanted a .30 for my Crown. And I never use it

I did that a few months ago. Easy switch, just buy the kit as it has everything you need. I switched for a little more power for those barely off shots on raccoons.

Be careful when you change the pellet probe. It is held in by a tiny grub screw with loctite that is easy to mangle. As I recall, I put a soldering iron on the head of the screw until the loctite smoked and then immediate screwed it out.

I have maverick in 700mm .22 heavy barrel and tungsten hammer. Shooting mostly 40grain/2.6g H&N slugs. For me, its totally enough.

Yes, a little tricky. No fear though just go slow.
Also, you will need a 25 cal magazine if you don't single load.
A general comment, I think .25 is the best compromise between power, shot count and economy. If you stay with pellets, that is. For slugs, I would say .22 is really good enough for most. But slugs are hard to tune and they travel too far for most backyards.

I went from a .25 600mm to a dedicated .30 cal. 700mm. I just like the higher FPE at the longer ranges for hunting. I still plink with the .30 cal in the backyard. I just use a large rubber mulch filled tote as a backstop. It will even stop my .357 caliber at point blank range. I have never converted my Impact back to .25 cal. I have other .25 cal guns that are dedicated for that caliber. It's a pain to keep swapping calibers all the time. I learned my lesson on doing that.

I'm about to embark on a caliber change converting my .30 barrel to .25 using the Huma kit.
Can anyone point to any references or offer any sage advise RE O-ring placement between the barrel and barrel housing? I was assuming even placement down the length of the barrel, but I did see one u-tuber suggest the O-rings should be biased towards the muzzle. It appeared to be this guys first time changing a barrel, though, so am looking for reference. Obviously I'll see what comes out with my barrel, but these O-rings are definitely moving when inserting and removing the barrel from the barrel housing.
To answer (F)Arigunner's question (even though he wasn't asking me), I'm switching to .25 because I'm done with the JSB et. al. 24 grain MRD's. I'm seeking better BC and accuracy at 50 and 100 yards from a pellet, not a slug.
It's been learning to understand and tune the Maverick.
Anyway... Here's to blaming the gun and not the idiot behind it!
