American Air Arms All Things EVOL

how are you tracking these events and who is shooting what? i have been interested but i never see pics or find much when i do a google such? i did a search just a few days ago for PAC and AAA with nothing?
i wish some one would post pics of the shooters their setup and maybe even videos?
thanks pan
Our forum host Michael took a LOT of videos and so did Steve from AEAC. Pyramid also had a videographer there too. I would imagine they have a a lot of editing going on before they post anything but I am sure something will be coming out soon from Michael and Steve.

I like this approach of dislike or letting the gun earn it's home 1st. I'm of the same path. only consistent accuracy intrests me & that includes a good trigger , hunter or not, followed by Ergo. If it fails 1st 2 it's gone.

While I wait for the EVOL, seeing as how I haven’t received shipping confirmation yet, I put my Dreamtac back on Hades pellets. This will be the gun that the EVOL will have to shine over in order for me to keep the EVOL. It would probably be a no contest but after after building a real barrel for the Dreamtac and tensioning it, the gun is a formidable adversary. It makes the same power, close in size and weight and zero issues with POI shifts. My apple trees are dropping little apples like crazy so this is a fun time to sit them all over the place out to 100+ yards. Then I just slip around and shoot at them like I’m hunting them. Shooting from various positions. Can’t wait to see how the Mini does and feels in comparison. And if it’s louder than my Dreamtac at the same power levels.

Looking forward to your impressions on the Mini over the Dreamtac.

I ordered in 2019 and still waiting for my 45 slayer. Nothing but excuses from Tom Costan. I have all of the emails, texts, receipts and my Amex payment for $3,038. Total rip-off. Don’t wait for the time to expire like I did on my credit card, file a dispute right away. I had to hire a law firm and file a civil case.

Tom has been NOTHING but great with many people. He is repairing one of my guns and has been nothing but helpful. A little more detail rather than what you put. The Slayers are all hand built at the time of order, and it is mentioned that they take time to make. So......

I received my Mini today. AOA was just busy and it took a while for them to finally ship it.

My order is from February 2019. You would accept a 4.5 year build time?!? Even when he told me he would send me a check last year. I corresponded with him BEFORE I placed an order to avoid this mess. Here’s my conversation from today since you don’t believe me and want evidence….

Considering what has been going on the past years...possibly..yes. Have you worked in a manufacturing or firearm business? Barrels alone right now are anywhere from 14-18 months out, and that has been constant for a year and a half now. Getting materials and parts can be a pain.

Yes a 4.5 year wait would be awful, but like many others here Tom has always done right by us. There just seems to be something missing. And you can never take just one side of the story, Tom has a side as well and it isn't fair to hear one side and go with that. And no it isn't my place to call Tom and try and get answers for you, that's on you.

Any first impressions of how it feels?
I planned to use it today for the first day of squirrel but it’s pouring rain. But I did shoot a couple tanks of air out of it yesterday. First thing I noticed and didn’t like was cocking it. Something is missing at the back of the stroke that other really good guns have. I like when a cocking lever cams over. This gun is Kral like with how it cocks. The second thing I noticed was the trigger. Wow! It’s good, no it’s great. But maybe a little too great. I’ll see if I need to adjust it heavier once I hunt with it. After the first mag I ditched the tiny grip. After the second mag I ditched the crappy Magpul stock. The Magpul was comfortable on the shoulder it is a cheap rattler compared to what I like. The reg on my gun is set around 2k and the gun shoots 890’s with 16gr. I will see where it’s set when I feel like messing with that aspect of the gun. I’ll do that when I get a couple hundred pellets through it. Oh, I like how light the gun is and I didn’t wreck that by putting a heavy scope on it. This gun should be a pleasure to carry with me when I have other bigger hunting chores to do in the woods.

From this post I’ve been in contact with others in my same situation for 4-5 years out. Over 10 of us so far. I wish you the best with your EVOL.

For the record from Friday, Sept 8th.

No luck yesterday evening. Torrential rain then noisy dripping woods. Saw one squirrel but he had his chicken suit on and quickly retreated up the tree. The gun was a pleasure to carry. My bottle guns have to be carried muzzle down when I have a shoulder strap on them. The Mini hangs on my shoulder like a gun should, muzzle up. The bad thing is because of the ambidextrous safety, most times when I took the gun off my shoulder, the safety was off. I need to figure out how to stop that from happening.

@Bigborfan I’ve read of a few folks with a similar grievance in the past in regards to purchasing AAA Slayers. However, there are ways to handle and address these types of grievances. Crashing an information thread about a totally different gun isn’t one of them. I suggest you start your own thread if you desire to vent or whine. You’re not the first person to have this type of complaint. Conduct an AGN search and find similar old threads, make your own, or don’t. Just take your complaints elsewhere.

I just tried to take the hex screw out of the safety knob on the left side of the gun. Was hoping just to eliminate that knob. The hex screw is tiny and my wrench is flexing big time. Don’t feel like risking a stripped head so it looks like the knob stays. Built like a tank. Everything tightened like a tank.
@Vetmx Not sure if the safety has changed, but on mine I need two hex wrenches - one to hold one end stiff, and the other to turn and unscrew the bolt. Is yours similar?
