What’s the heaviest weight .22 cal slug you’re shooting without pushing the gun too hard?
And at what reg pressure?
And at what reg pressure?
Thanks for the graph. I didn't realize the 600mm comes with the magnum XL plenum. But you're absolutely correctThis graph should be close to representing what a .22 cal Panthera would do with various projectile weights at its max (180 bar~ iirc) set point with the magnum xl plenum and 600 mm barrel. I do not own one but it lines up with what you got on the 36 gr.

600mm?i ran the zan33s at Nac 155reg @ 997.. u see how that worked out... this time i dropped to 30.5s @ 1015 148reg and its nasty to 300yards and happy
22 600mm.....yes for sure but once i heard that i backed it off abit and it sounded happier.. As of right now my panthera is shooting amazing again. I was on the fence on selling it but right now its shooting stupid good even to my m3.. there both on point right now600mm?
Compared to my M3 (700mm) the Panthera is much “twangier”. Would you agree?
I’ve never turned my reg down that low. 600mm barrel right?I like the Altaros ATP smooth 33grain. 128bar, 900fps, 0.18BC and a very relaxed shot cycle. Tried the 40grain Altaros but decided the extra juice wasn’t needed.
I have some Altaros 31g ATP BT, but none of the smooth design. You could try the 32.3 Altaros 5.52 at about 900 like @weevil recommends BC 0.18 G1. Or try the 40 grain Altaros Kings at between 850 and 900 fps. BC 0.21 G1.
I have a 600 but it’s a .25 cal. I shoot the 49.5 Altaros Smooth at 885 fps or 86 fpe with reg at 132 bar (BC 0.21 G1). Very accurate. Generally shooters think they’re missing out on something by not going 1000 fps. And they are. They’re missing out on much less wind drift and excellent accuracy.
IMHO just the Altaros slugs. They are designed for the 850 to 900 fps speeds. I talked with Ondrej and they are intentionally designed that way. You can shoot them a little faster, but why?I have some Altaros 31g ATP BT, but none of the smooth design.
I tried just about ever brand slug out of my .25 Delta Wolf and my .22 M3. Some of my findings are in alignment with yours. None of the lighter slugs performed very well at higher velocities (above 1000 fps). Majority of the slugs that shot well for me were 27g - 30g from 940fps - 975fps. I don't recall getting good results with velocities below 930ish. Does your statement ring true for all slugs, or just the Altaros slugs?
Yep -600mm. Micro at 2.9. I was shooting Javelin 26g with same settings at 980. But after trying the ATP smooths, I bought 2000 and tossed everything else out.I’ve never turned my reg down that low. 600mm barrel right?
Have you gotten any other slugs to shoot good at that velocity?
I only had the ATP 31g (not smooth) so I ordered some ATP smooths to try out.Yep -600mm. Micro at 2.9. I was shooting Javelin 26g with same settings at 980. But after trying the ATP smooths, I bought 2000 and tossed everything else out.
you can get the 6mm... our guns have the 4mm in it...... UA sent me my 6mmI had the opportunity to do some slug culling today. 10 shot groups (not trying to hit the bull) at 100y in gusty L to R winds.
With my reg set to 140b and the QTS at 2.45 (there’s actually 50 steps between whole #’s) I shot the Altaros ATP 31g slugs at 900fps with good results.

Then I bumped the reg up to 150b and the QTS to 3.19 to shoot the 27g-33g slugs from HN, Javelin, & ŽAN.

I must not have the 8mm hammer because I could only achieve max of 975fps with 30.5g slugs. Where do I get the 8mm weight?
Thanks
That’s too heavy. Plus I thought most STX Heavy liners liked .218???35 grain nsa in 217 is probably your best bet
