FX Panthera compact hunter .25 Cal…. My experience.

Just received the rifle.

Micro adjustment arrived at 2.75 aprox.

Tank manometer arrived at 150 bar and regulator manometer at 122 bar.

When the right hand is in the grip, the right wrist is touching the rear bottle.

The hard case sent with the rifle is very good.

Even with a heavy scope the rifle feels light.

This rifle has a very adjustable “stock” that allows a good position of the eye on regard of the scope with adequate eye relief.

Ok.

I was able to zero the rifle with 6 shots.

I made some shooting at 220 yards.

This rifle is SUPER ACCURATE!….. As accurate as the Sidewinder or more.

This rifle did not have variations at long distance in the vertical axle !!!

Is far away in comfort to shoulder from the Sidewinder or the Vulcan or the Uragan or the Wolverines or many other rifles, but is functional and very light.

With the configuration the rifle arrived I do not need to play. It shot perfectly at long range with the JSB’ 25.4 grain. Perfect for the use I will give it.

Tomorrow I will pass it through the Chrony.

I will try to make more adjustments in the stock to try to make it more comfortable.

After the chrony I think I should dial the macro weel lower in order not to force the tension of the hammer.

Nop….. What I just did is to make the 13 number of the macro adjustment to match the 2.75 of the micro adjustment. Now the macro adjustment weel shows show as 13 the 2.75 of the micro that worked perfectly.

The side lever is very smooth. High quality.

The magazine receives a lot of pellets but is far away from being the easier to load. You need the two hands to handle it.

The quality of the rifle seems good, not beautiful as the Daystate, not robust as the airgun technology, not as shiny as the Sidewinder, but not bad at all.

The safety is very good and in a good position, much better than almost all rifles I know. Maybe I like the must the one of the Bantam Sniper. Also the one of the wolverines is very good.

I like a lot the double safety of the sidewinder but the front one is not as refined as the one of the Panthera.

I need to have more time with this rifle to see if it gives trouble or not.

But if it continues to work properly, it is clear that:

This rifle is extremely accurate.

This short and light rifle is powerful.

This rifle give enough number of shots per fill with the configuration of a 580 cc bottle in the front and the 300 cc bottle in the rear.

And

This rifle is not the must comfortable to shoulder. But you will not have to pay a massage after a shooting sesión.

In terms of accuracy, among those rifles I have shoot with, at 200 yards just the Panthera (and maybe other FX rifles that I have not shoot with) and the sidewinders are the alternative. The Daystate renegade HP .25 and .30 also are accurate at very long range, but the number of shots per fill are far away form the sidewinder and the Panthera with two bottles.

At shorter distance (100 yards) there are many, many air rifles that will do it very well.

Loving my little compact hunter in .22. With the folding AR stock, it is very adjustable and confortable to shoot. Great with pellets, not with slugs.
But that is not a problem for what is quickly becoming my favorite backyard pester.
I'm shooting hades pellets at 915 fps with a 480cc bottle up front. Tons of shots.

Is it uncomfortable because of the bottle? Does that force you into an odd position? It’s hard to tell from the pic.

We’re at 5000ft, which helps the stability shooting slugs from the pellet liner, and I see you’re also at high elevation. Just a tip in case you’re interested but I’m glad to hear it’s working for you. May need to revise your “final conclusions”?

This is just one FX rifle that seems to work pretty well ..... I may not say that ALL FX are alike.

No. With a 480 or 580cc bottle up front, I see no need for a bottle in the rear on one of these little compacts shooting pellets.

A panthera with a rear bottle needs a straight grip, not the angled grip. That's why your hand is making contact with the bottle. Whoever set up your rifle should have known this.
Here is a photo of my .22 compact (with folding stock, no rear bottle) vs. my 500mm .30 cal Panthera with dual bottles. Notice the difference in the grips.

A panthera with a rear bottle needs a straight grip, not the angled grip. That's why your hand is making contact with the bottle. Whoever set up your rifle should have known this.

.22 is shorter than .25

Something really interesting in this rifle that has broken my paradigms is that THE VERY SHORT barrel of this little rifle is extremely accurate at 220 yards and delivers A LOT of power !!!! I would have lost any bet in this regard !!!

What'd the OAL of the 2?

My compact 22 as pictured above, with the Donny Tatsu moderator is 34"
The AR stock will adjust the oal (including tatsu moderator) from ~32" to 35.5"
This of course will vary depending on the AR stock used, etc.

Chrony gave 934 fps with JSB 25.4 with actual configuration.

The small rifle works as is: very accurate at short and long distance and is always better a hit at 49 fpe than a miss at 65 fpe.... That is how this small rifle will live. No torture to adjustments !!
