Anyone else do this? Alot of my shooting is out of my truck so I keep qll my ammo and mags in these handy little spots. Very convenient and fit nicely in there.

Nope. Can't hunt from a vehicle in my state without a disability permit, unfortunately.
But the hunting laws are pretty lax otherwise, so I can't complain.

Although I get it lol , If in the same scenario I would most likely be right there with you but only a couple tins in the first bay haha. I can honestly say I have never found myself even considering it Thus far haha. It does make perfect sense when carousing the fence lines and keeping a lookout for calves and so on.
You just keep on trunking and having a blast while taking care of business lol. We definitely enjoy you sharing your experiences with us haha.

Dillon, sheer genius! Great way to use those small cubby compartments. Pests on your acreage have zero chance with Evol Mini in tote and you behind it...

Lol I don't shoot my guns all that much honestly maybe 2-3 times a week I'll stop for 5-10 min and shoot some birds. But when I do have them I never have to worry about not having pellets as I always have a tin of JSBs, CPHPs and some slugs in .22 and same in .177 minus slugs

No drive by shooting of animals in my state either. It even includes ATV’s and side by sides. But my spare bedroom with a range outside the window does kinda resemble your truck. Tins and mags within reach.

This is just my opinion,, That isn't hunting. Hunting is getting out there do some scouting, It's different if you are just sitting there and they come in firing range but to plan on sitting in the truck when i'm able to walk about? Your missing out! I Love being in the woods and just being out there with mother nature. If your disabled and cant walk,,, that would be the only reason to shoot from a vehicle. It is illegal in my state too.

What you are describing could be considered apples and oranges IMHO lol. Why even post this ?? What if bye chance he is pesting or protecting crops or livestock or maybe he is keeping bird poo out of your milk so you can enjoy your cheerios haha !! would you compare shooting rats at the dump/landfill to hunting in the great outdoors next to a pristine river . Are you going to tell the fellows working in the cattle runs/farms dropping pest birds that cause thousands of dollars a year in damages that it is not hunting I mean maybe I missed something here .
He never said he was hunting in the first place lol. He ask if anyone else did this storing extra pellets in the bins and stated most of his shooting was from the truck.
Lets see, you mentioned doing some scouting so would it please you if the next pest/invasive species of bird he sees he should get outta the truck scare it away and look for scat then stalk it in the pasture while touching the milkweeds with his finger tips and feel the breeze in his hair before taking the shot on the bird ?
Okay maybe that was a lil much from me but seriously if you do not agree with it why not just click the back button and leave . Oh wait a minute I am guilty as well and answered yours haha. oh well

Too many rough roads for keeping pellets in the truck. I don’t trust the lead to not get jostled around too much in their tins.

Never said hunting. Actually hunting with air rifles in WA is illegal. I can shoot unclassified animals all day long though like pigeons, starlings, collared dove, sparrows, sage rats and coyotes with an air rifle. And no none of it is for sport. Simply pesting and decreasing numbers. Sadly don't actually get to go hunting really ever as I'm too busy. But do get to shoot around the farm though so happy about that. But yes while running around doing irrigation and various things around the dairy I will take opportunities if I have time to reduce numbers.

Dillon, people that are not and have never been involved in farming/ranching simply can't wrap their brain around the fact that some critters are simply pests that need removed. You and I know those pests make it hard to make a living as a dairy farmer, rancher, etc. And agricultural folks making a living is more than you making money, but rather people liking you feeding the country.
The gripes on here about hunting versus killing problem animals make me chuckle. I really love it when guys get on their high horse about respecting their quarry, and they'd never take what they consider an unethical shot, and that they won't shoot at an animal further than they can put 10/10 pellets into a pencil eraser sized group.... then we find out they are shooting ground squirrels or starlings or pigeons or sparrows. Lol
Hunting big game is one thing, killing pests is another. Keep on shooting out that truck window when the occasion arises and the pest #s need reduced.

Thanks Cole. These animals can take alot of feed out in places. Birds eat our grain in the actual feed bunks and squirrels can destroy them in the field. 4 years ago we had sage rats take out 4-5 acres of corn which adds up to 120+ tons of feed which is at least a week or more of feed. Plus sanitary reasons by calves and in our barn.
And yes lol I respect animals. Hell my whole life literally revolves around animals and keeping them happy and healthy to not only provide for us but others also. Some get in the way of that and those I don't have respect for.

As a 1980 Oklahoma State University Wildlife Ecology graduate and sincere apologist for flora and fauna, can I point out the hypocrisy of accepted behavior on this air gun forum with regards to hunting regulations of the several states and the willy-nilly slaughter of game birds and animals in the spirit of "pesting?" I accept the gray area of certain "black birds" which are the enemies of many songbird species (in Oklahoma Brown Headed Cow Birds, Common Grackles, etc) which in law are protected, but are popular targets for PCP'rs . . . but Fox squirrels are small game animals as are migratory Mourning Doves, and IMHBAO should not be advertised publicly on this forum as target practice "pests." The "anti's" use this information for the detriment of our sport. If you are a violator of State wildlife laws, why not just keep it to yourself? Does anyone agree? How about a thumb's up?
