JSB rebranded pellets...the truth.

AGN members, this is Joe of Predator/JSB. First off, the letter that I am posting is from JSB. I asked several people close to Predator to post the letter, too. The signature is Pavel's. The letter was created to dispell what is being said in the airgun world. Now I know this letter will be received differently. It, in no means, is meant to divide airgunners. I use them interchangeably, whichever 10.34 domes i can get. I run the Hades too. Internet “experts” ruin everything. Any experienced airgunner knows that just because your gun shoots lot “a”better than lot “b” doesn’t mean the pellets are worse or better. Stick around long enough and you’ll learn.

Next time you do the buy 3 get 1 at PA toss in a tin of JSB. You’ll learn.

And to set the record straight I have never had a tin of FX 10.34’s beat a tin of JSB in my testing. In fact i have 3 different hollow points of different brands that shoot better than FX domes in my gun, including some crosman hollowpoints lol. What MY gun likes.

But i haven’t ruled them out!

Personally- not surprised, have never found any of the rebranded pellets to shoot better (nor worse) than the JSB branded pellets.
Just musing... think these things might get started when a fellow gets his first tin of a rebrand & that lot happens to be a particularly great match for his rifle. Followed by the assumption: rebrand = better. But enough testing of different lots over time will eventually yield pretty much equal results. That's how it's worked out for me, anyway.

I do like the bigger tin of 350, I've asked JSB to do that for the JSB label. We have talked to shooters about the MRD quality, and we have brought that to JSB's attention.

I think part of this is driven by people who.... have nothing better to do. Unless you're going to buy a mold and make your own pellets, who cares where the pellets are from as long as they're the best for your purposes?

In 2019 Steve Scali did a video tour of the JSB plant in which all of this was explained. As humans are apt to do, over time the story was embellished and changed with each iteration until it became the rumor that the letter references.

Is it fair to say this:

It's pretty clear that there are no 'special' dies/tools used specifically for FX. But in aeac's video, he does state they'll run a batch from one die for FX (at least at the time of this video).

It's the same dies for all the pellets they produce, but FX requests single die-run batches. This has been construed as FX has their own 'special' tooling that only FX pellets are run through -- that's what jsb is saying is false. If they run a FX batch off die 5 today, die 5 will be running batches for jsb or any of the rebrands tomorrow, but alongside the other dies for that pellet.

This can lead to more consistent batches/lots for FX but it's only due to the fact that the pellets for their order are coming from only a single die run vs from 5 different dies. But it's not due to 'FX only' dies or special sorting and handling.

Air Arms pellets are different to that of the JSB brand. Whilst JSB do produce them for us, Air Arms have their own dies (purchased by yours truly) which are totally exclusive to us. We are aware that JSB simply re-brand their own pellet, which a number of our competitors sell.

I can see the one die thing..

If you got 10 running and fx calls in a order you just go to the line pick a die of the 10 and dedicate it to crank out that order wile the rest crank out your runs..

So you may have die 1,2,3,5 7,9 doing jsb and 4,6,10 doing fx , aa, runs .

Though i also could of figured specs from outsource pellets may differ. Like say the lead compound used for fx may call for softer or harder pellets..

Then it could be random slap whoevers sticker on a tin as they roll down the shoot..lol
