I only tried slugs in my .30, and the Hybrids shot great, but the accuracy with pellets is phenomenal.
Once I figured out a procedure to maintain a consistent set up and follow through, the Evol really began to shine, and I stayed with pellets.

Yes, my .30 magazine jammed real bad today at the range. Finally free'd it from chamber, and there was a mutilated pellet in the magazine which was causing me not to be able to remove it. I have noticed that they do jam from time to time, not sure why.

It seems to side load between the rotating portion and the case where the head of the pellet gets stuck right before leaving the mag.

I was at the local outdoor range today and I use two .30 cal EVOL magazines. I have noticed on occasion that my magazine does jam up a bit. I know about the little ball and pressing it in when I load, but sometimes I cannot remove easily. JSB 44.75 g pellets, and they look pretty good.
95% of the time, no issue. But, does jam once in a while which I know is not right.

I went to my local outdoor range today to Chrony my new EVOL .30 Paradigm for the first time. Perfect!
At range - first Chrony run
Paradigm at 50 yards

Then I wanted to shoot some 50Y groups with JSB 44.75g. Wind was a bit breezy at 3-6mph, with a strong head wind. Shot 8 (5) shot groups at 50 yards for a CTC average of .67" CTC. I do believe on a quiet wind day, I could have had sub-MOA with the same situation. Also, shot (2) N50 cards. One was terrible, but one was pretty good. Shot a 215 ( worst ever N50 card ) and a 237. The 237 card had two bad bulls, which I circled. #16 and #3 bulls were me missing the wind call, I think. Had I shot two (9)'s instead, I would have broken into the low 240's. Next time..
Just a side note for the 'bench rest junkies.' I have used a good Accu-Tac bi-Pod from the bench, but the Randolph front rest is perfect for the flat fore end stock on the Paradigm. Very stable, and I can't detect much recoil. Also had a Sumo .30 caliber suppressor on the end, and it is very quiet.
At some point, I may pick up a FALX high flow STO moderator, but not really needed since this is BR only for me.

I am currently working with Captain Oring out of NJ to set up AAA Evol kits. He has a slayer kit already but never worked with an evol.

( Following) Issues with my evol .30 mag indexing also. Captain O-ring helped me with o-ring kit for my .357 slayer also.

In regards to magazine indexing issues, it was a simple fix. I had magazine indexing issues on both my Evol 30 and 22 when it was brand new out of the box. All you got to do is open the magazine up and reset the coil spring in one of the 4 holes for the right amount of tension.
Test by loading the magazine and push the pellets out with a pointy object by hand to make sure it indexes properly. Just a word of caution. When you disassemble and assemble the magazine, just make sure not to lose the ball bearing. Ask me how I know lol. Also, the magazine schematics list the ball bearing size as 3/32". IIRC, it's actually a size up. I believe 1/8" but I have to verify that again.
It's also good to have an assortment of ball bearings in case you lose any.

I went on Oring store llc and bought I think 10 of each when I got mine. I know it's convenient from captain oring but was cheaper buying it how I did compared to his prices. But would be nice for those that don't want to do that to go to him for a kit.

I have had this happen to me a couple of times with pellets as well. Aside from now carrying a fiberglass rod in my case now to tap the jammed pellet back into the magazine, I also did some experimenting with the different magazines to figure out why it happens and completed the fix for it.
What happens is the very edge of a pellet head will catch this sharp edge of the magazine as it begins to exit. (Check out the difference in the two magazine holes, before and after.) This sharp edge is sometimes catching/dragging the edge of the pellet's head, which allows the pellet to want to move sideways in the magazine. Then, the extra force we apply with the cocking lever jams things up. Through testing, the solution was to cut, radius and polish the leading edge of the hole in the magazine. I haven't had a jam since, and can feel that there's no catching issues anymore.
Cleaning and polishing up the inside edge of the hole was easy enough with these steps: (1) Disassemble the magazine. (2) Working from the outside to reach the inside corner of the hole at an angle, take a razor blade and lightly cut the sharp corner off the hole. One or two light cutting swipes all the way around the hole worked. (3) Polish the cut edge into a smooth round radius with 400-600 grit sandpaper (I rolled sandpaper tightly around a small .050" Allen wrench to work the close corners and add pressure to the paper.) (4) Reassemble, tightening the screw so the magazine lid is closed on all sides and rotates with a little bit of resistance.

I’m reading your good suggestions on fixing the magazine jamming issue. Q. Why do we have to do anything? Expensive magazines should have ZERO issues.
As an example; the Taipan and HW 100 magazines are flawless. These spring loaded magazines are problematic.
What about a better design?
I want to shoot, not fix magazines.

If this magazine jamming issue persists, we all have concerns. Nobody wants to work on fixing magazine loading / removing issues.

I think we should all take a step back. Tom is a busy guy. Putting out a top tier product and thus far, been very communicative , he's running a business, I'm sure agn is not his top priority, while I'm sure his customer service is, we have to be patient. He's been super responsive and helpful with me and even cares about his works of art after they've changed hands from original owners.
