Anyone try the cheap Chronographs from Ebay and Amazon?

Came.with mine🤷‍♂️🥴
All i got was Chinese... I've had mine for sometime now so maybe they put a English one in the box now... That thread at gta is a mile long on the different ones so lots of info in ot if needed. Last i recall like 26 pages of posts on it.

You know as long as i had mine i think i pit it on the charger once or twice and thats just to see if ot needed charging .. so great battery life from mine ..

I was sceptical when i bought it but glad i did .. just too handy and works as expected .

Anyone try these inexpensive chronographs that are $35? I'm not planning on tuning very often. I just need to tune for slugs. I've seen some youtube videos and a few positive post. Just wondering if anyone has compared one to a more expensive chronograph. Are they accurate, and consistant? Looks like there not going to be the most durable for I wont be using it very much. I already have a chosen pellet I just need to figure out what slugs it likes. View attachment 339427

Yep, great little chronograph. Agrees with my Caldwell which I no longer use. I would guess close to 200 readings with NO errors. Does meters, feet and energy. Input projectile weight and shoot. It's just too cool. $32 shipped from Amazon. I'm going to get another one just incase. Bill and Addi.

I ordered one of those as well. The way I generally use these little chronographs, I prefer to be able to attach to the muzzle so I added a clamp to mine:

I have a clamp on and one that can mount to a tripod. I prefer the latter because the clamp on affects my POI and I like to shoot groups at the same time. I take my airgun notebook with me and note the readings then I later transfer them to a spreadsheet where I convert to fps and calculate fpe and other values plus I calculate the extreme spread and standard deviation. I find the spreadsheet very useful for reference later.

My two do not give me the same mps but they are fairly close to each other. No idea which is more accurate. But they are both very repeatable and they are thus extremely useful for tuning, finding when my P35s go off the reg, etc.. I shot my "shooting chrony" one too many times and it doesn't work anymore. I would much rather have either of my inexpensive ones, however, so I have not replaced it. I also have no desire for the FX with it's multiple scales, non-rechargable batteries and high price.

@JimD You might find a Competition Electronics ProChrono chronograph useful. You can use the Bluetooth feature that allows the app to capture shot strings transmitted from the unit. It also converts the velocities and grain weights to FPE. You can also transfer the data to a computer. There are two or three options of exporting shot string data. I haven’t exported data to a spread sheet, but I think it’s an option. Unless you’re extremely comfortable with typing and using spread sheets, the ProChrono should prove beneficial especially in saving some time.

Just got mine from Amazon yesterday and tested it today. Seems to work just fine, but the diameter of the muffler on my Avenger is too big for the clamp. A Velcro strap solves that. Fits the Buckrail perfectly. I think I’ll get the one from Aliexpress as well. Gives me a backup and won’t have to change back and forth when I have two guns out t test.
Thanks for the heads up on this.
