Sidewinder . 30 Cal. My experience.

These are my first comments on the Sidewinder .30 Cal that I just received.

The rifle arrived filled at 250 bar and regulator set at about 149 bar.


The rifle feels really light.

My Daystate Wolverine HP. 25 Cal seem to be louder.


Total length is perfect for handling.


The ergonomics are the best I have seen in an air rifle (even better than the Uragan). The one who designed the ergonomics of this rifle is a genius.

The trigger has a long midle weight first stage and shot is not so predictable. But is not bad, you get use to it.


The Sidewinder has a safety/Semi/full auto selector and a safety in the right side above the trigger.

Magazine is all metal and very well designed.


With 12 pellets the rifle was dully zeroed.


At the end of this first zeroing 15 shots session I was able to hit a stone the size of a golf ball at 190 yards. The rifle seems to be really accurate and consistent.

Tomorrow I will make groups and I will measure fps.

Is there any way to attach a sling to the airgun? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't considering it?

There is a long rail under the bottle that can be use to receive one of the swivels. I will look close to the but pad to see if I find where to attach the other swivel.

Feels lighter.

I made some more shots.

The rifle is very accurate ...... BUT...... The weakness to achieve a really and absolute perfect accuracy is the trigger.

Taking into consideration what I have said above, the shots I made a moment ago at 83 yards compete face to face with all of my must accurate rifles.

If someone get to know how to include to this Sidewinder an electronic trigger, then, all our other PCP's will obtain an early retirement.

Here there are 9 shots at 83 yards.

Take into consideration that I AM NOT an extreme bench rest shooter. I have never used a bipod.

I made my adjustable rotating front rest and my bench.

So take into consideration that this 9 shot group could be much better if other person, not just a hunter like me should had pulled the trigger:

The Sidewinder arrived shooting JSB’s 44.7 grain at 850 fps.

This airgun is checking all the boxes for me right now for my second rifle. CF shroud, extended rail under bottle, side pic, no plastic trigger, moderator, made in US, not overly priced and aesthetically pleasing. Accurate out to 190 yards. I'll be paying more attention.

You won't believe how easy to use this rifle is. Like no other I own.

Just made 5 shots at 50 yards with the NSA slugs 43.8 grain : exactly same hole, one over the previous one.

To shoot the slugs I dialed two clicks counter clockwise to the adjuster in order to increase a little the power.

Easy, easy, easy.

The way the Sidewinder works (that is the same of the LCS,the Rattler and the Huben K1), seem to be the equivalent in regard of all other air rifles (including Daystate with computers) of using candles for lightening a house vs. the electric power.

Once you see how easy is to increase and decrease A LOT of power naturally on the Sidewinder you understand that there is no need to buy troubles.

With this system you achieve changes of power NATURALLY.....

It looks like a no sense to go back to get less.

I have the rattler 357, Western airguns are fantastic. I was wondering how easy is it to get the mag out and put in another one? The rattler is always in there and you can't take it out.

The sidewinder has a removable magazine now doesn't it? The rattler doesn't? I can't grasp the rattler with a huge bottle on it can only get 2/4 shots. That's a lot of power and now I want both a rattler and a sidewinder.

It is very easy to remove the magazine from the Sidewinder. To mount it back again is very easy but you need to learn how to make it fit again to be able to lock it again, kind of tricky, but you learn in less than 20 seconds.

The magzine is a marvel of design.
