Just looking at the only picture, I am guessing they left the trigger, cocking mechanism, magazine cycles the same. If you look closely, the left side of the action got a little fatter to house the new hardware add-on to assist the front cocking. Overall, I think they added only the minimum and what tried and true they left it alone.

I hope the air cylinder is bigger for more shots count and hopefully the other side of the bottle there’s an external reg adj screw.

While I do share in goldwings opinions, I don’t share in his delivery of those opinions.

The vet’s stock is chunky, and I was never good shooting it off hand. The action being in the back bothered my ears, so I sold it. Enough said. I own zero bullpups because of this.

Now rangur brings in the dislike for crowns by saying they’re “fragile”! I also disagree with this opinion. My crown in walnut stock with 380 barrel is extremely rugged and well built. Reg is solid, bumping the barrel doesn’t change poi, it’s as solid as they come.

Bad experiences by both parties doesn’t mean either platform is bad or lacks in any department. It’s just opposing opinions. The name calling and brand bashing can stop, the world of airguns is a great place to be where there are so many options, there’s something for everyone!

I actually prefer the rear cocking, more simple with less to go wrong,

I don't see much advantage in the forward cocking unless you want to shoot faster and that isn't real conducive either for hunting nor target shooting,....at that point might as well just go Semi-auto and then the forward cocking is obsolete too

Wathever you need the forward cocking or not, you rarely hear about anyone complaining about having one, no matter what gun. Thouse who do complain about anything on the taipan is usually that it doeas not have one. I can not remember anyone in this forum said "I sold my gun as I did not like it being forward cocking".
You either hear anyone wanting aftermarket rear cocking linkage on a regular rifle:)

That's 99.9% true. Manny is very particular about his guns though.

You always make solid points in discussions. Goldwings opinions while may be shared by a good number of shooters, were already well established throughout other posts on the forum. Taipan post discussions want to talk about Taipan. Yes, his delivery of those points left much to be desired. Now, in respect to my pointed out comment regarding the FX crown being fragile - I try to be careful with words, but I was merely stipulating that the Taipan was not as fragile as the crown, in comparison to Taipan. Not that the crown itself was unduly fragile. I frequently state FX as a strong gun maker, otherwise their popularity would not exist. I do make an effort to be objective with brand comparison. As a result , if I often refer my lack of enthusiasm for a brand as my personal choice, not their overall quality. Tastes vary, and I never claimed mine was the only one. LOL!

Another attempt to make a stab at Taipan and continuing to be a troll.

Any rifle manufacturer that equips their rifle with a CZ barrel "farmed" it out, so its mute point to point out that it was outsourced.. At least they were smart enough to put a real barrel on their rifle. Its one of the very things in the large handful of things that makes them so consistent and robust.

I saw this too along with other things I started to notice from the new pics and recant everything I said about the new one. I have zero interest in it. It was a major disappointment to me.

Did a quick rundown. Basically from what I read , the 550mm Barrel is CZ , the 700mm is CZ/LW polygonal. Now it has a floating barrel, but, it seems it maybe still threaded, not held by grub screw. The tube/ standard version says 311cc capacity and 600 plus cc for the tactical version both with 300 bar capabilities. Same trigger, same 20 MOA rail. Enhanced moderator system- still with their baffles. Tactical has AR style grips and is interchangeable. That’s all I have.

If this has the anti double load feature, I’m buying one. The free floating barrel doesn’t bother me, but the reason I bought my original vet was the anti double feed. Being able to decock and not have to remove the magazine makes it fast to pick up and get that shot off when you notice a critter in the back yard stealing all your bird feed!
