Taipan listened.

??? Well, this gun will NEVER be as fragile as a crown. Your obviously not a fan of Taipan, so save the space and go bitch in one of the many FX posts where you would have experience to comment. I for one WILL acquire this new model as I'm a Taipan trustee. I don't waste my time trying to criticize FX, I had 7 , now I have NONE. That was my own choice for my own reasons. If you don't care for Taipan, fine. However, you can save your commentary so the Taipan folks can have a meaningful correspondence.
Well said

Yeah, solid point. Only thing I wasn’t crazy about.
I never have owned a taipan I really want one and everytime I save up some cash for another rifle I usually end up seeing a deal of the day on the classifieds for another brand and spend my money, but I can guarantee you my money is never spent on a fx product anymore, the only fx product I own is a fx chronny 😀 some day I will hold on to my cash and actually buy a taipan, I’m really digging this new model

Don't get me wrong, if I was given one, I would sure keep it and pull that stock off and start giving it some nice flow and attractive lines, I doubt it would take much to "sexy" it up but the gun itself sure looks stiff and sturdy.
His name is escaping me at the moment but there is a guy in Spain? I think that’s right but could be wrong… who makes this stock for the Taipan’s. It’d be nice if Taipan would hire him to make their stocks.

Back to Taipan fans. Right of the bat removal of the stock will be trickier with the cocking lever running through it. The squared part of the shroud ends with a band around the air tube to stabilize it versus the 12 screw bracket assembly of the original. Lastly, did they move the reg forward in the tube so as to eliminate the need for an additional plenum. Going to watch IWA with great interest.
I have several questions after seeing that picture, and I'm anxious to get a good look at one. At that point I'll probably get another Veteran, but it might be the old one! I've always admired the simple, robust design of the Veteran, and I hope the new design doesn't compromise those values.

Years ago I bought an extra stock for my Taipan with just those intentions. Great gun, just wasn’t fond of walking around trying to shoot a hunk of 2x6. Unfortunately Taipans inletting on their stocks doesn‘t leave enough meat on the bone to get real creative without having a fragile stock. So I just got used to it.

As long as they left the trigger alone!
