Best state to live/retire ?

Just looking for opinions from you folks. I'm in my mid 50's. I am seriously considering moving to a different state when I retire, probably when I'm 65-70 yrs old.
My must haves-
Acreage
Big/small bore airgun hunting
No harsh winters
Low cost of living
and "friendly" this hobby as well as "other" hobbies that are similarly like it if you know what I mean. Semi off grid is not a deal breaker.
I'm not rich, but I'm not dirt poor either.
Just want to be comfortable and live a simple life.

Don't you live in Hawaii? things change! you are asking a question that has a 10-15 year due date. Portugal,in that time you can learn the language.
Ok ,idea for you;You are looking now to buy? Great Idea, the thing is in all reality 10-15ears will bring a lot of changes to you and your body...,
Nay,Too much of a Crystal Ball advice, of course, we all want to know the future...enjoy the life you have now.
My advice is to take care of your health so you can be around in 10-15 years.

Not sure about airgun laws in Florida but I believe they do not tax social security or pensions so that would be a big plus. There are very crowded areas but I'm sure there are also spots inland where you can have a few acres.

I live in South Carolina. There are caliber restrictions for hunting with air rifles but they are pretty much common sense. It's easy to find open spaces in South Carolina and the cost of living is pretty reasonable. There is a long history of leaving law abiding people alone which will make it hard to anybody to implement anything like the restrictions of Illinois or New York. I live in a city and it is still legal for me to shoot my airguns in my yard. Weather is not Florida level of heat but that is not all bad. Summers are hot and muggy but winters are quite mild.

The cost of living is very cheap in New Mexico if you compare it to Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. A lot of people from California buy second house here and fly back and forth. I've met several at the shooting range. One thing that's a plus for NM is we have a lot of BLM land where you can shoot/ hunt small game all you want. Winters are very mild here but up north can get a lot of snow.

That's where wife and I choose. Houses property building just about impossiable so much demand....Had a farm in south central Tennessee too...almost too far out...David Slade and Martin Rutherfords neighborhood...lol. Recommend either place...Fla weather nicer except for the occasional hurricane...

Alabama is what i would say also , listed as one of the highest rated retirement benefits states and on the GULF Coast

don't think about a large house ,the bigger it is the more time to clean and take care of .

Love Wyoming. Very 2a friendly. No state taxes. Very low population. Cost of living is reasonable if you say away from Jackson Hole. But we don't have any air gun hunting. And winters are fun. But that's what keeps people out and the cost of living down.

Places with good weather year round are typically not cheap to live in
