RTI Prophet Accuracy!

This afternoon I decided to shorten the first stage length of pull on my RTI Prophet, it was a little on the long side. After that I lightened up the trigger pull a bit. Have had this gun for a while now but hadn't changed any trigger settings. I'm running it on high power, reg at 170 bar shooting 25gr redesigns at 985fps at just about 55ftlb! Was really liking the short first stage and a little lighter pull weight so set the target out at the usual 50 yards. 5 shot group center to center was .317" and 4 of the 5 at .205". I love this thing and really regret selling my Priest in .177. Added a few pics of the target and one of the Red Dragon! :) Now I need to find a Dragon skin vinyl wrap??? I see a Prophet 2 177 in my near future...

Nice shooting.

My Prophet Performance .22 is insanely accurate with JSB 18.13s at 925fps. I’m running the regulator at only 90 ! Lol.

Just buy the .177 barrel kit from RTI Shop in Spain. Its less than $300 and is a great .177 barrel. It takes 3.5 minutes to swap barrels and probe on the Prophet - I had a friend time me Doing the swap. He also did it in less than 5 minutes, and he had never touched a Prophet before I had him swap barrels just to show how simple.

That's food for thought??? I really want to try out the new valve system that's in the new Prophet 2! Have you ever ordered from RTI Spain? I would think AOA would have or would get the barrel kits????

I agree you will love the 177 kit with that 500 cc bottle you get a lot of shots , I put a 700 cc bottle on my Prophet I and even with the 25 caliber barrel I get a lot of shots a very lot. My 177 and 25 barrels are LW and my 22 caliber is a CZ But its on my Compact II for now.

My 177 was a great 13gr slug gun! Since selling my 177 Priest2 I've purchased a 177 M3 Impact and a 177 Delta Wolf which are both decent with slugs. My Priest2 177 was more accurate than both of them with slugs.

Great shooting! I'm new to LR and shooting off of a bench. LOL I did a 5 shot group at 102yds that measured 1.114" with slugs in the Prophet II .22. Thinking about a .177 also.

I'm going to try to get out this weekend and try some 100yrd shooting. I haven't pushed it that far yet! Will post my results here! Which slugs have you found to work the best so far out of your Prophet2?

I've had the best accuracy with H&N .218 21grain slugs at 130bar 1000fps. I've tried a few NSA's, but nothing to compare with the H&N's

Very nice looking gun and accuracy Ed! My current tune is at 170 reg/980 fps is almost exactly the same as yours and I am shooting MRDs also. Previously I was at 160/965 but my groups tightened up when I went with the 170/980. AoA and a few others have recommended that the best tune is at 170-180 on the reg with velocities at 1010-1070 for the MRDs so I plan on giving that a try to see if I can tighten it up any further at the 75-100 yard ranges.

Haven't pushed it over 1000fps with the 25 MRDs. Will see how she does with the current setup at 100 then will bump it up a bit and compare the 2! Thanks for the info!

I’m curious how loud your Prophets are at those high reg settings? When I have mine cranked up, I need to wear an earplug in my ear that’s more or less on the mag well.

Scotty with the Huggett I have on it, it does a good job of taking the snap out of it. Not going to say its quiet but I don't feel the need for hearing protection. While I was shooting it yesterday I did have one instance where something didn't seal right around the pellet probe / mag area. Pulled the trigger and felt the air on my face and a loud pop which rang my ear for a moment. I thought I blew a seal. Tried again and nothing, continued shooting and never happened again?

I had a similar problem with the air and loud pop, but it was occurring more frequently - my sidelever would pop open when firing. AoA adjusted my linkage which has corrected the problem.
