Owners Manual for FX Wildcat

I recently took delivery of a new .25 Wildcat and am really enjoying it so far. The quality is top notch and the gun has no issues whatsoever. Well done FX!!!

However, I found the Owners Manual that shipped with the Wildcat to be insufficient and of very little use. Specifically, the manual does not mention nor provide any information specific to the Wildcat. I understand that some information is shared across some FX rifles but unfortunately, this isn't the case for the new Wildcat.

Case and Point - Trigger Adjustment: I found the trigger on my Wildcat to have a bit too much 1st stage travel for my taste so I decided I would try adjusting the trigger to remove some of the travel. Unfortunately, the instructions and diagram shown in the Owners Manual was completely different than the trigger and assembly group found on the Wildcat. I then checked the FX website and didn't find any documentation or even mention of the Wildcat.

I hope that FX will take this constructively and would hope to see a revised manual (or support document) specific to the Wildcat so owners can get the most out of their rifles and investment. Thanks FX and keep up the great work.

I second that!
I do not feel the need to adjust the trigger but a manual is needed. Should definitely get some information about the rifle with the rifle aswell as on the website.

I agree. I have the bobcat and I've been wanting to work on the trigger for some time now. The manual doesn't give adequate details and unfortunately I haven't been able to find one video on YouTube which shows you how to do this effectively. Hello Scott,

an owners manual for the Impact and the Wildcat is comming



here is a photo of the trigger, by moving the (1) screw you adjust the first stage and by moving the (2) screw you adjust the second stage they both work with eachother so it takes some tinkering to get it just right

Once you get the hang of it is super simple. 

Warning: When you adjust the trigger always make sure the safety works afterward!!!!

I have bought FX guns they never give a manual that I am aware of.

This is only my 2nd FX and I received a manual with each rifle.

I think aside from manuals, FX should also provide parts and exploded diagrams on all of their guns. I am aware they have this for a few models, but I didn't find one for my Bobcat MKII. The Bobcat MKII is relatively new, and it's really hard to find detailed repairs/adjustment tutorials and information in general on it.

I tried this and it works, but like he said you need to get the hang of it and that isn't simple. I liked to empty my tank getting the trigger set.

im having trouble with my wildcat trigger. i can get it set like i like it but after about a tin of jsb's i loose the feel of 2nd stage. i can turn the screw in about 1/8 turn and its fixed again. the screw feels tight enough to hold. could something else be doing it?

I was having trouble adjusting mine but then I noticed that the screw in the middle that attaches to the sear was a bit loose. I tightened it and after that everything worked fine.

@PlanB Perhaps you may want to try applying a little loctite to the screw to help keep it from loosening.

What is the factory’s regulator pressure set at for the wildcat MKII?

It does take a bit of adjusting back and forth but worth the effort..

Why isn't a "Shop Manual" available from somewhere? Whenever I purchase anything mechanical that's the least bit complicated I pay a little extra and order the same manual that a repair shop would use for reference for the repair jobs they get. Almost without fail sometime during the ownership of the item the manual pays for itself and allows me to do the repair. Maybe more important I get the item back into service much faster and I know the work will be good as I will do it.

My secondhand FX Wildcat .25 (purchased from the classifieds on AGN) is now in my hands and I was hoping that Owners Manuals for the original Wildcat .25 will be available somewhere.
I tried the following websites searching for an owner's manual:

• FX (manufacturer) -- PDF Owners Manual -- None specific to Wildcat .25
• FX USA -- No Owners Manual links
• Airgun Depot -- (QC Inspection by AGD of my Wildcat on 4/20/2017) Links to Dreamline and FX2000 PDF Owners Manual. None specific to Wildcat .25
• Pyramid Air -- No Owners Manual links
• Utah Airguns -- No Owners Manual links

Part of my decision to purchase the FX Wildcat .25 was the reputation of the FX products. This "gap" in customer support seems misaligned with the "reputation territory" claimed by FX Airguns. Quoting their own website's "About Us" information;
" FX Airguns are known for outperforming their competition with ease."

I may be new to the airgun community but I know what a manufacturer should provide to customers of high performing / high quality products. Considering the span of the dates on this thread, it seems that someone with fresh eyes may have an advantage on calling out the problem as a "less than desirable leadership position." Can I get a witness? 

Speaking of a "less than desirable leadership position," I recognize that this post (a "Hold My Beer" manifesto if I ever saw one) may not be the best introduction to make a good first impression with other airgun enthusiasts . In the future, I will try to be a pleasant and reasonable guy in accordance with the community standards.

I am looking forward to learning the ropes of my FX Wildcat .25 airgun and making friends on Airgun Nation and throughout the community of airgunners.
