Skout airguns

In time to come a 23-25grain slug in .177cal isn`t unrealistic. The powers are going up as the airgun technology is becomming more developed. Maybe in 5 years time an airgun in .177 doing 50 ft/ibs with a 25grain slug from a factory platform is available?.
Rti Prophet Mk1-Mk2 are here yet, but this is not the main problem. I love and use exclusively .177 (for now) due to some stupid laws (Italy, max power without license is 5fpe, moderator only on .177 not FAC, not allowed for other calibers). I have a deep modified RTI Prophet Performance MK1. The main issue is that .177 is an extremely sensitive and lunatic caliber. 3b on the reg can mean 20fps less or more. For the same reason (power horse gun, small ammos with light weight) tuning is not so easy. But it is an extremely underrated caliber for 15-120y. With appropriate slugs and barrel, maybe 150-170y will become the new "normal" limits

Nop pushing 22+rg in 177 is not unrealistic .. but they will be a problem of twist rate.. it will require a twist faster than 1-17.7 to stabilize 22gr + I have not found anything about faster 17'7. In. 177 ..my uragan 177 would work awesome up to 16g .. a condor up to 18 at best .. maybe that is why the piledriver in .177 was not a popular round.. 21g not enough twist.

Agree. Actually, producers have to pay more attention to barrels. But, with some DIY or custom third parts, you can really push the limits. Next move will be to abandon the classic air rifle caliber and start using small PB caliber such as .172 or .224, paying attention to speed/twist rate/length. We have enough power to push the bullets close/over the transonic zone, and a lot of PB ammos have been developed exactly for those speeds. We will see.

I actually have. 224 -- 1-12 .. 1-14 .but my condor could push up to 62g at 960fps in low power.. so that push me to pay for the tooling to make. 224 - 1-8.5 n 1-9.5 .. to test as for now the 1-8.5 is already aviable at TJ .. with that one a 257 - 1-8 was made to in order to be able to find what works in 100gr 257 .. since a have a built condor that couldpush100gr at 1000fps .. but not the twist.. my next tooling order is the .224 1-9.5 and 257 1-9 .. it's been a long wait..for the tooling to be made, for the barrels to be made, n now the wait is the barrels to be machined.. at least I have all the bullet molds stored..
As for 172 .. I really don't see my self single loading such a small caliber.. but for sure in a pair of years from now when those 2 gen n 3rd gen agt guns hit the market for cheap..they will make awesome project guns..

You are lucky cause in EU we don't have any kind of custom barrels. Sure, we can find LW and CZ (not sure about this one cause they don't sell directly to consumers, but LW is available from some Netherlands sellers). Alfa Precision is not even replying to mail. But they are ALL the same old story, 1:17.7 or worst. I don't know about molds market, but I'm a bit hopeless. I would love to try a Krieger or Bartlein .22LR/.17HMR with 40gr LAPUA/25gr Hornady bullets. Those barrels are state of arts products.

Tj liners is a US supplier for barrels.. for PB n airguns in a size more suitable for pcps.. those barrel manufacturer you mentioned are great but not to many machinists with take the time to reduce them for pcp use they are usually 1 1/8 thick.. if your want to try 172 he already have the liner aviable in a 1-9 twist and a proven mold is aviable at arcenal mold in 24g n 26g .. if you want to use 224 he has one in 1-14 .. molds available at arcenal to suggested max bullet weight 47gr or less .. easy to use them both without to much costum work..only in the airforce line..preferably talon ss or condor..because of their longer frames... custom mandrels are ordered in USA at pacific tools.. whatever the twist you want they will make it.

Thanks so much for the infos! I love the AF platform, but I'm looking for something a bit more modern, such as the all new RTI (hoping they will release it in 2023). It will have enough power, air and space to fit a serious barrel. I also noticed that most of .22 premium PB bullets have a different shape than slugs (rims). However, .17HMR is more similar to Spitzer ammo.
A lot to test and experiment, next year.

Yup..they don't have a name for that gun yet but.. it will have power to spare .. I'm waiting for those to . And it will be easy to custom fit different barrels.

We are on the same page. Happy to know that I'm not crazy. I had the pleasure to touch and shoulder it, I was in RTI 3 weeks ago. What a f***ing BEAST.

Yes sir, but this is the first proto. They have changed something (buttstock size and external finishing). It has 2 plenum, balanced valve, externally adjustable reg, externally adjustable HS, 600mm and 700mm barrel, built-in moderator. Apparently, it can reach over 140fpe in .25. Knowing RTI, I suppose they are not lying.
I was so amazed that Rok had to twist my arms.

I haven't been. Could you help me, please?

Expect around in cost of €1500-3000 for your special barrel.

Thank you so much!

Well while i would not scuff my nose at a S&L rifle, then i think if i had those kind of money i would go elsewhere.
Just like i would never buy any B&O audio or TV product, even if i have always respected their sound.

At least it sound like We Danes will be buying back the ammo factory we sold, and start to make our own ammo again,,,,,,, to which i can only say,,,, well about bloody time.
We should have a bigger military industry, and we should be leaders on some aspects of military,,,, for instance given the huge catalog of info on all Danes, we should be world leaders in encryption,,,,,, BUT ! that is far from the case.

And Danish intelligence be that military or public,,,,,,, i am sorry but i pretty much see that as a joke.
