Why I think EVERYONE should own a Gamo Urban

Hello all,

Been in this hobby for many years now, tons of enjoyable purchases but no purchase more rewarding than my Gamo Urban. I have owned many rifles including Commander, Concept Lite, Pulsar, Renegade, etc but time and time again the price to performance of the Gamo Urban outshines them all. Today I got done stacking pellets, pellet after pellet, on top of each other at 65 yards with nothing more than run of the mill CPHPs for $6.89/500 at WalMart. Not only did I remove the pellets from the tin and did nothing more but I did not have to wash the pellets, bless them, caress them, and read them a bedtime story nightly for their performance to be acceptable. :)

I've requested that the wonderful furry and feathered creatures of the forest please stop breaking in line and use the number system; they just keep lining up to see how the pellets stack up against them.

If you have not considered the Gamo Urban I recommend you all do so -- install a nice inexpensive scope, pick up an Atlas Bipod clone, and a Yong Heng and call it a day. Nothing is more fun than a good day plinking and even better to do so without breaking the bank at sub-$800.

Hope this helped!

It certainly wouldn't make ME "happier" but sincerely glad it does it for you. I love my 3 guns, no complaints at all, glad you're feeling it too, no matter WHAT gun. A lot of people search for that feeling. Accuracy is accuracy be it an entry level gun or a higher tier gun, but there's more to it for me than just accuracy & cheap pellets. There's NOTHING like melding with a precision, tried and true platform of a finely made piece of equipment. The fit & feel of it, the reliability year after year, the smoothness of everything about, it all makes it a "complete package". I've yet to try a lower tier gun that comes anywhere close to that. If ALL one wants is accuracy & cheap pellets, that's fine but it's nothing like being happy & satisfied with the "complete package" ".

I have a Gamo Urban It was not my first pcp, I got later just to get one, they is low priced,, shoots the CP domes
It sits by a window, in my computer room, pulling guard duty for when a stray Eurasian collared lands on that utility pole
my biggest problem is me,, making sure the bolt catches the trigger, I have to slow down and focus,:geek: on the job at hand.
and oh ya, it is handy when you want to loan to a friend
It is fall season , apple cider time and I see apples fall close to the tree, :)

A Gamo Urban was my first PCP… the consistent accuracy simply amazed me. My furthest kill? 80 yards on a picket pinning chipper, range finder measured. Many kills at 40-50 yards. Furthest chuck 69 yards. I moved on to more refined guns. But still consider the Urban a solid choice. It was a great pester for me.

I also have an urban. Currently on loan to my father. While I have my qualms with it, it sure bats above its price range for sure, but knowing it’s made in the BSA factory and sports a BSA cold hammer forged barrel should help in the accuracy department.
As for all the haters, they’ve just never shot one, so take what crap they say with a grain of salt!

The Gamo Urban was my first step into air rifles, it was and still is one of my favorite pest eliminators. Trouble free, reliable and easy for anyone to learn to shoot.
It is a "gopher getter" at my place with the bug buster scope and Crosman 14.3 hollow point pellets. This picture is from a while ago showing what I use it for, the proper tool for the job at hand.

I have two of them, it's a bsa with a gamo stamp on it, they aren't pellet picky and accurate as any mid priced rifle, shot count is nothing to brag about but accuracy more than makes up for it, 90 % of people on this site are not interested in budget guns but I'm not one of them. Normally it's my first choice pesting around yard.

Like rawroots said the majority of people that are to the level of signing up for an airgun forum have long forgotten the roots of where they started. Therefore you have to just ignore those comments. I had an urban, it was my second pcp and my experience was the same. It shot crosman 14 gr variants just as well as jsb pellets. That just as good was 3/4 “ easy at 50 yards. I sold it and do regret it. I have 2 fx rifles now but have been eyeing the refurbished 238 dollar urbans. I may buy another one who knows. I really want, and have always wanted, it’s big brother the coyote but just can’t justify the price those bring.

I have one in the closet. Have not used it in awhile.
It is a wonderful little rifle that is very accurate up to 50 yards, with cheap pellets.
It is very easy to shoot offhand in hunting situations, and if I need more than 30 shots to gain a limit of squirrels, then I need to go home and take up knitting. Grin!!
I will get around to it again, sooner or later, I have too many air rifles so some do get ignored for awhile.
