Update as requested,
I began the installation of my Buck Rail carbine conversion kit for my Diana Bandit this evening and as expected some parts must be smoothed with sandpaper. All went well until I thought it would be a good idea to watch the installation video on YouTube where it was recommended that you remove the grip handle to make the AR receiver cover eaiser to install, did that. Now all that’s left is to mount the grip handle back to the frame using the provided hex head screw and “nut” included. What do ya know, unlike the video that shows the nut sitting stable in a fitted slot mine has nowhere to sit other than a large triangular opening with no way to align it. Small problem right? Wrong, its been hours and as of this writing its still not in place. I don’t know what you had to deal with when you assembled yours but I can tell you that as it is two men and a boy couldn’t make that screw go into that nut. It will have to be glued in just the right place on the frame to allow the grip screw to find it, hopefully. A simple spring clip commonly used to align nuts with plastic parts would have been a cheap solution and easier than making a recess to stabilize the nut, neither was done on my example.
I’m thinking that mine must be early production before all the bugs were worked out. I’ll remove the receiver and re mount the grip to it and reassemble it as a complete unit even though the rear mounting screw will be harder to reach. Eventually it will all work, but there will always be a bad taste in my mouth when I use this carbine remembering all the unnessary frustration. No stars for Terry and Buck Rail on this one..
