"Not only that, but no pellet weight for the velocity either!"

If you check the specifications closely enough, you'll find specific details about the ammo used for testing. "Test with round pellet"

How much more detail(s) than that do you need? In fact, I'd say that virtually redefines the tern 'excruciating detail'! ;-)

I missed that info. Thanks for clearing that up. Accuracy point for you my friend 👍

The majority of my guns are Chinese or Turkish.... No predjudices there.... 😄

However, I have to say that the designers of the M60 have taken cues from the wrong gun.... 🙄

It must have been the Walther Maximathor (cf. below) — with its unsightly gaping hole between the barrel/shroud and the airtube....! 🙄

UGLY Space between Barrel and Airtube. Walther. Maximathor. 01.1642805405.jpg

Now, I think the space between barrel and airtube (or air bottle) should be large — so that the engineers can make the shroud diameter larger!! Then we wouldn't need to add silencers to so many of our guns to make them backyard friendly....

Of course, SPA might just be showing the airtube version of the M60 — and the bottle version of the M60 is shortly to appear — which would need that extra space....

The features of the M60 sound GREAT!! Is someone going to offer an LW replacement drop-in barrel...? 😉

While you wait for Huma to produce a working reg for it you can have a new barrel machined and measure all the orings then order them. Time it all perfectly and in the end you’ll have a good gun. Or, just buy a good gun and enjoy it out of the box. Snowpeak makes the unfinished furniture of the PCP world. It’s generally useable when you get it home but it’s much nicer if you finish what they started.

Frank,

I have not forgotten the recommendations you've given me in the past...!!

On the contrary: I have been working on a short list of guns from which to select one to put on my Christmas wishlist (for Christmas 2023, my income won't cover an earlier purchase). That short list has NO China guns.... 😄 (nor Turkish guns).

➔ I've used up all my tissues. I got only ONE box left.

So, I'm going to go with the "Buy once, cry once" principle. 👍🏼 The other produces more tears in the long run. 😟

Because:

Initially save money with Chinese prices —

While their regs and barrels leave you nauseous.

Thanks for you help in getting to this point, Frank. 👍🏼

Matthias 😊

Nice looking gun that needs a bottle. As far as buying and dumping money on a brand that is synonymy’s with TERRRRD, I would not. Snow peak is almost the Hasan of China, ‘almost’ because the Hasan’s shoot more accurately than the Snowpeak.

Modding means having spare parts on hand, they are not available or even mentioned yet for the m60.

I bought a Artemis /Snowpeak p-15/Dian Skyhawk that was pimped by Diana, 3 years ago and only recently did spares come to the market after Snowpeak quit selling them.

I repeat, Snow peak is the Hasan of China.

The bottle version is in design development, first m60's are with European dealers already... Some of the Snowpeak's are doing very well and have developed a large European following specifically the p35 and p15...Snowpeak has no US dealer, however i have freely bought spare parts from Bagnall and Kirkwood and other European suppliers , as well as Snowpeak Direct for about 4 years with zero issue.

I buy my p-15 parts from Kirkwood and Bagnall also, and I am glad to get them.

Snowpeak has been known to put out poor workmanship and poor quality barrels.

I love my Skyhawk, great looking and handling bullpup, just wish it had been produced by an a company I could trust. Good luck getting Snowpeak to sell parts here in the USA.

Bottom line is, there are far better choices in the USA market.

If you know a gun is going to need parts and so parts availability becomes a concern for you, ask someone who doesn’t get all excited looking at new airgun pictures what they think. Maybe a wife, girlfriend or coworker. They will probably just say buy something that doesn’t need parts. I have 5-10 year old PCP’s that have never required a thing. Not even a oring in a couple.
